As we witness this encouraging shift, it’s clear that improving educational access and reshaping societal norms are paving the way for a brighter future for women in academia and beyond! Today, we celebrate the powerful connection between tourism and peace. As António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, reminds us, tourism brings people together, fosters inclusion, and strengthens local economies. By valuing our cultural and natural heritage, sustainable tourism can help reduce tensions, nurture peaceful coexistence, and create millions of jobs worldwide. In fact, the tourism industry supports over 300 million jobs globally, making it a vital driver of economic growth. Tourism is not just an economic engine; it connects cultures, builds bridges of understanding, and uplifts entire communities. For example, regions like Southeast Asia have seen significant peacebuilding efforts through tourism, where local initiatives promote cultural exchange and economic cooperation. This year, on September 27, 2024, we focus on the theme “Tourism and Peace,” underscoring the importance of sustainable tourism that benefits travelers and creates lasting opportunities for local populations. Let’s commit to making travel more inclusive, sustainable, and a catalyst for peace and prosperity for all. Together, we can harness the power of tourism to build a better world! 🌐💚 #WorldTourismDay #TourismAndPeace #JobCreation #SustainableTravel #GlobalEconomy Paresh Kumar Minal Srivastava Aviranjan Barnwal Deepak Bhatt Krish Jain Sanya Lamba
