  • LCCF was honored to have our Vice President, Kelisha Garrett, join the National Minority Supplier Development Council this week for Acres Soul of the Soil: Rooted in the Future - Cultivating Tomorrow Empowering Luncheon. The discussions spotlighted the systemic disparities that have long affected the field of farming, particularly for Black farmers. These powerful presentations not only unearthed the deep-rooted challenges they face but also sowed the seeds of change for a more equitable future in agriculture. Lovitz, Director, Office of Public Affairs, EDA About the Minority Business Development Agency's Capital Readiness Program: Vice President Harris announced the recommended awardees for the MBDA Capital Readiness Program in August 2023. The Capital Readiness Program is a $125 million technical assistance program to help underserved entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses. Once final awards are made, the awardees will launch and operate business incubators or accelerators designed to prepare underserved entrepreneurs to secure capital from the historic $10 billion State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) and other capital sources.

  • Super Bowl LIX is around the corner, and The NFL, in partnership with the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, wants to engage opportunity-ready businesses within Greater New Orleans to support the production of this exciting event.  Key Details: * Application Period: Applications are now open through March 31, 2024. * Eligibility: Businesses who completed an expression of interest form will still need to submit an online application for consideration. * Resource Guide Exposure: Selected businesses will be profiled in the Super Bowl LIX Resource Guide, which NFL primary contractors and event producers use to identify and select local suppliers for sub-contracting needs.
