The Maschhoffs 2nd Annual Targeted Development Program is a year-long initiative for select individuals, focused on self-development, personalized growth plans, expanding professional networks, and leadership skills beyond the Swine Industry. Participants attend quarterly sessions that blend classroom learning with field trips, supported by mentors, facilitators, peer groups, and leaders. This investment in their growth reflects our commitment to their long-term success within the company. Caleb, his wife, and their three children enjoy family activities like watching sports, hunting, fishing, 4-H projects, and attending church. Caleb also stays involved in grain farming and developing recreational properties. Interestingly, Caleb shares a birthday with his oldest daughter, and with their twins, they celebrate birthdays only three times a year. Caleb started with The Maschhoffs as a graduate student in 2007 and transitioned to full-time in 2013, serving as Associate Director and then Director of Research and Development. Selected for the Targeted Development Program, Caleb says, “They took a chance on a very naïve college student 17 years ago and have supported me every step of the way.” The company’s dedication to both personal and leadership growth has kept him engaged and motivated. For someone passionate about innovation and growth, The Maschhoffs has been an excellent fit, offering autonomy and challenges. Caleb’s advice to new employees: ask for opportunities that push your boundaries, as that’s where growth happens. He also highlights the supportive culture, saying, “The Maschhoffs is full of great people willing to help, if you just ask.” As the company has grown, its culture of hard work, doing the right thing, and continuous improvement remains. Caleb also notes progress in fostering a culture of care, strengthening relationships both at work and home.

The Maschhoffs 2nd Annual Targeted Development Program is a one-year program for a select group of individuals. The purpose is to increase awareness of self-development opportunities, build individualized plans to drive development, shape network of professional mentors, improve leadership competencies, and increase perspective outside Swine Industry. The individuals participated in a session quarterly consisting of both interactive classroom and fieldtrip components. They are surrounded by a support network comprised of various facilitators, mentors, peer groups, and participants’ leaders. By actively investing in the growth and advancement of talented individuals, we aim to create a supportive environment that recognizes and rewards their contributions. This program not only demonstrates our commitment to their personal and professional development but also underscores our dedication to our employees’ long-term success within the company. Kristy loves the outdoors—hiking, canoeing, and spending time with animals. Though she once dreamed of becoming a marine biologist and living on a ship, she chose a different path, earning a degree in Agribusiness Economics. Over 21 years with The Maschhoffs, Kristy has taken on various roles, starting as an Animal Care Giver and eventually becoming Director of Transport Operations. In this role, she prioritized driver safety, enhancing training, setting clear guidelines, and extending preparation timelines for new drivers. These efforts, along with added safety coaching, significantly improved MT DOT CSA scores—from 40% in March 2021 to just 3% today. The team's dedication was recognized with the ITA Grand Prize Fleet Safety Award at the 2024 Safety and Maintenance Conference. Kristy’s participation in the Targeted Development program has allowed her to connect with peers, gain a deeper understanding of the Maschhoff Team, and appreciate the relationships that drive the company’s success. She believes that strong relationships are crucial to success and that everyone’s efforts contribute to a shared mission. Kristy knows that aligning her decisions with the company’s values ensures they have a meaningful impact.
