All scholars are invited to join dinner with Abdullah T. Antepli of Duke Divinity School this week as part of Morehead-Cain’s Dialogue and Discourse program. Antepli will deliver a talk entitled, “Israel and Gaza: Finding a Way Forward,” on Thursday, September 19, at 5:00 p.m. at the Foundation. The event will be hosted by John Rose, faculty director of Dialogue and Discourse. Antepli is an associate professor of the practice of interfaith relations at Duke Divinity School and a professor of the practice at Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy. Antepli is an expert on cross-religious and cross-cultural dialogue in American higher education and in the non-profit world. He’s built multiple organizations and initiatives to facilitate religious and spiritual life on U.S. college campuses, sowing seeds of understanding between religions while upholding their cultural integrity and dignity. Scholars, join us for a Food for Thought talk with Yi Li, CEO of FarmWorks LLC, on Friday, September 20. Li will give a talk on market-based solutions for global food security. Li is a graduate of Pomona College, where she majored in economics and served on the board of trustees. After her academic career, she joined McKinsey & Company, where she worked as a management consultant across the U.S., China, and Kenya offices. In 2021, Li co-founded FarmWorks, a climate-smart agriculture company in Kenya, and currently serves as its CEO, leading efforts to promote sustainable farming practices and increase food security on the continent of Africa.

I am happy to announce that I graduated with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this past May. Thank you so much to UNC and the Morehead-Cain Foundation for an amazing four years. I am so grateful for the countless opportunities and experiences the Morehead-Cain Scholarship provided me during my time in Chapel Hill. As sad as it is to say goodbye to this amazing place, I am eager to apply the skills and knowledge I gained over the course of my undergraduate studies in my future career.
