Insufficient funding for behavioral health services often prevents American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities from accessing quality care. Many Indian healthcare providers are chronically under-resourced, and urban and Tribal reservation AI/AN populations may not have access to various spending levels and services, depending on who they are and where they live. A new toolkit from the National Council of Urban Indian Health (Official) aims to help Native communities better identify and leverage opportunities to financially support and sustain behavioral healthcare services, an effort that our team at The Pew Charitable Trusts is proud to support. Don't miss our conversation with NCUIH CEO Francys Crevier, JD about the importance of this toolkit and what must happen to ensure all Native people have access to the resources and culturally competent healthcare they need to thrive. #mentalhealth #substanceuse https://lnkd.in/eF9B-g3e
