104 years ago on August 26, the 19th amendment, which granted women the right to vote, was officially adopted to the US Constitution – today, we know it as #WomensEqualityDay, celebrating empowerment and the civic leaders who led the women’s suffrage movement, laying the groundwork for improving equal rights. The Rhode Island Foundation honors civic leadership on this day, and every day, as we continue our work to convene leaders, create conversation, commission research, and advocate for policy change to ensure that in our community, all voices are heard.
