Dalia Kamal from Moroccanoil explained that employee-generated content is the next frontier in influencer marketing. Our paid media team has been saying this for a while: “The line between organic and paid influencers is blurring. Marketers should lean into it by testing continuously,” Allison Waken from The University of Phoenix. Influencer marketing is a constant foray into the unknown. “If you feel uncomfortable, you’re playing in the right place,” said Julio Acosta, SC Johnson. Sometimes, as a brand, you have to break your own category rules to meet consumers where they are. Nandini Anitha Nandakumar, Global Marketing Director at Smirnoff, showcased case studies of repositioning established brands to get closer to audiences. (Spoiler alert: It was massively effective).
