The Signatry

Earlier this month our whole team converged on Kansas City for our annual all-hands gathering. About half of The Signatry's staff works remotely; this yearly gathering is a special opportunity to see all our colleagues in person. This year's theme was "Hearts for Generosity," celebrating the heart as important symbol in Kansas City and the heart for biblical generosity that drives our work. We volunteered at Heart to Heart International, enjoyed a well-costumed talent show, heard from our leaders, and collaborated across teams to set a vision for the coming year. Our people are the heartbeat of The Signatry. We're so thankful for the chance to work together.

Congratulations to Aric Almirola on his win of the Kansas Lottery 300 at the Kansas Speedway! His professional success in NASCAR is changing how he thinks about God, money, and generosity. Aric grew up in a blue-collar home with a focus on working hard and saving what you earned. Even as he found professional success in racing, his focus continued to be on holding on to what he received. That changed when he read Matthew 6. "I felt God pulling on my heart and saying, 'Hey, this is not all yours.' ... So I've tried to give a little bit more, and a little bit more, and every time, I end up not missing it because God still provides." If you have been wondering how to support those affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, our team would like to highlight a few vetted nonprofits providing relief to these communities. Although the storms have passed, relief efforts continue. Heart to Heart International: Deploys rapid disaster relief and medical assistance. HHI is one of only four organizations in the U.S. to achieve the World Health Organization's certification as an Emergency Medical Team Type 1 Mobile. Convoy of Hope: Distributing food, water, hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, and more in North Carolina and Florida. Works with local churches to assess community needs. Operation Airdrop Inc: Organizes volunteers with private aircraft to deliver essential supplies in the wake of natural disasters until road access is established. As of Tuesday, 10/15, The Signatry's community of donors has initiated 200 grants totalling more than $1.8 million to these and other relief organizations to support hurricane victims. We're continuing to pray for God's comfort and peace for those affected by the recent storms.

What are you harvesting? Next month heralds the beginning of "giving season," with over 30% of annual giving occuring in December. Yet the harvest is plentiful now, not merely for giving away your wealth, but also for donating your time and skills to causes that have been placed on your heart. Your harvest is more fruitful than the money that you place into the collection plate. As the year begins to end, it is important to continue to labor and impact others. Don't save your end of year giving for the last minute. Start your giving early and see the fruit of your harvest.

Are you being diligent with the seeds that you are sowing? Everything we have comes from God. He gives us what we need, and expects us to use what we are given to impact others for good. By giving to others generously and strategically, we not only have the ability to change the trajectory of someone's life, but also open ourselves to receive more to steward from God. God gives us the seeds in order to sow. Following this principle of stewardship can bring your family freedom, fulfillment, and joy.

True generosity starts with your "why." More than a tax deduction, more than a tithe, true generosity happens when you seek to meet a need. With a cause-focused, problem-solving mindset, it is easy to see how generosity includes more than the check you write—what other resources can you rally to solve the problem? One creative solution is to start a giving circle. A giving circle is a group of people who pool their financial resources to compound the charitable effect they can have.
