Quantitatively predicting the technoeconomic viability of future energy technologies

About us

STEER is a new, multi-disciplinary group within Stanford that will quantitatively predict the technoeconomic viability of future energy technologies – starting with energy storage. Using systems analysis and learning curves to address critical questions around various technology sets, we seek to enable all of us to make better technology bets – as researchers, entrepreneurs, executives, investors, government agencies, and policymakers. STEER will leverage Stanford's unique position to establish deep connections with startups, industry, academia, and government—becoming a core nucleus of knowledge. Remaining technology agnostic and presenting unbiased perspectives with deep scientific credibility, the insights published by STEER will guide “what to build” with Speed & Scale.
