Last month the Washington Tattoo had the distinct privilege of partnering with Miguel Sierra and the Fort Meade Suicide Prevention team in delivering our unique approach to #SuicidePrevention #Training for the US Army. An ever growing body of evidence and #research highlights that applying music wellness #activities (and when needed Music #Therapy) as a #transformative and #alternative means of suicide prevention can drastically reduced levels of suicidal ideation in active duty and #veteran populations. Studies conducted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center share that #Music can: ✅ Reduce stress and #anxiety ✅ Reduce #depression ✅ Promote social #connection and #community ✅ Promote a sense of #purpose ✅ Provide a #creative outlet Together The Washington Tattoo along with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) like Miguel, Rita Gigliotti, Jonathan Henderson, Christopher Oxendine, PhD … we are changing the game in how we approach this difficult and sensitive topic.
