Do you feel like Australia is becoming more divided? You’re not alone. 65% of Australians told us they feel like the country is becoming more divided. Have we started the slide towards the divisions we see elsewhere in the world? Here’s a chance to find out! We’re holding an event later this month in Sydney where Adam Spencer will host a discussion with Claire Lehmann, the founder of Quillette; Bill Kelty, a leading figure in the trade union movement and Waleed Aly, award-winning journalist, fresh from covering the 🇺🇸elections, on: ‘The Great Divide: is Australia at risk of becoming as polarised as the US?’ See link in the comments for tickets.

Is the tax system locking Aussies out of homeownership? Policies like Negative Gearing, Capital Gains Tax, and Stamp Duty might be fueling rising house prices—giving investors an edge while renters and first-time buyers struggle to keep up. Is it time to rethink the rules, giving people a fairer shot at homeownership? #taxreform #housingcrisis

Last night's event in Toowoomba gathered people from all walks to discuss Trust in Government - one of our 4 key focuses. A huge thank you to MosaicLab Co Directors Nicole Hunter (she/her) FIAP2 & Keith Greaves FIAP2 for facilitating our first deliberation. To Dr Helen Haines, David Pocock, Mark Evans & Mike Kaiser for your guidance and expertise on how Australians can rebuild their trust. A huge feat from our team in getting this first of four events off the ground; Nikole S., Rory Gallagher, Jess LeWatt & Stephen Beverley.

Can democracy fix Australia’s Housing Crisis? Our nation's first housing AMPLIFICATION is putting democracy in the spotlight through community deliberation. Bringing together diverse perspectives to find uncommon ground and make informed, collective decisions. This isn’t just talk. It’s a call for real change, with everyday Australians sharing what they want most from housing reform. By early 2025, leaders will hear directly from the people, backed by a process that sharpens empathy, critical thinking and trust on the biggest issue – Housing. Will their voices finally break through? #HousingCrisis #Australia #AMPLIFY #community

Tonight, AMPLIFY launches its series of events of 4 events with a focus of revitalising democracy. Kicking off in Toowoomba, Queensland to address the declining trust in government, especially in regional areas where trust is at its lowest. Led by AMPLIFY Chief Policy & Research Officer - Rory Gallagher, with a Q&A featuring Independent Dr Helen Haines and David Pocock, this event marks the start of an initiative aimed at giving Australians a platform to voice their concerns and explore “uncommon ground.” Following Toowoomba, events will continue in Sydney and Melbourne through November and December, building a foundation for democratic reform into 2025. #revitalisedemocracy #trustingovernment #regionalvoices #AMPLIFY

Hot off the press!! A New Era for Housing Reform Starts Here! 🌍 At AMPLIFY, we believe solutions to Australia’s housing crisis must come from those most affected—our communities. Today, we launch the nation's first AMPLIFICATION on Housing. Engaging voices across Australia to address this critical issue. "The community has spoken — housing is the issue they want to help solve," says CEO Georgina Harrisson. Founder & Chair - Paul Bassat added, "By elevating diverse voices, AMPLIFY aims to foster a sense of ownership over the housing crisis and drive meaningful solutions." A huge thank you to Geoff Chambers & The Australian for this incredible piece.

Who’s Really Getting a “Fair Go” in Housing? Australia was built on the promise of fairness — but when it comes to housing, who’s left out? AMPLIFY and democracyco are gathering Australians from all walks of life to dig into the realities of our housing system, exposing both the gaps and possible solutions. Can we break through and build a system that truly serves everyone? #FairHousing #HousingCrisis #Australia #AMPLIFY

It’s about reshaping democratic engagement, not just collecting opinions. By fostering diverse voices and grounding discussions in evidence, Australians can drive real solutions, not just talk. This approach challenges political leaders to act on community-designed solutions for a stronger future on our most challenging issues. #community #solutions #australia #AMPLIFY
