🌍 Happy National Immigrants Day! 🌎 Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity that immigrants bring to our communities and workplaces nationwide. At The Build Fellowship, we are constantly inspired by the stories of our Fellows who are elevating industries and educating students with their expertise. On this National Immigrants Day, we want to spotlight five incredible Fellows whose journeys and contributions embody the spirit of innovation: Fernando L. brings a decade's worth of experience in investment banking and corporate financial planning to his role as a Finance Build Fellow. Louis Weston is the Co-founder of Glasskube and is fascinated by how law shapes society. Lidya Tandayu guides students on psychology-informed leadership projects. With over 15 years of experience leading individuals across 20 countries, Lidya offers a unique blend of global perspective and leadership. Akshta Suresh is an Electrical Engineering Fellow and recently ran a Build Project for Text Detection in Images using image processing and coding, equipping students with essential skills. Dáire Boylan recently ran a Build Project that taught students how to create and pitch an experimental marketing campaign. He is a Global Solutions Director at Vaultree and has significant international experience. Their journeys remind us that immigration is about more than moving across borders—it's about breaking barriers and building new possibilities for the future. At The Build Fellowship, we are committed to empowering global talent and ensuring that their potential is not just recognized but fulfilled. Today, we honor immigrants everywhere and how they enrich our communities. #NationalImmigrantsDay #immigration #innovation #globaltalent #STEM #foreignnational

📹 Check out Daniel Kwik's on-the-ground coverage from last week's TECH WEEK by a16z event! You'll see snippets from his interview with Bisi Obateru, Founder and CEO of JustiGuide, who is building the "TurboTax of Immigration" to aid both global talent and immigration attorneys. Daniel also connected with Melissa Powell, Founder and CEO of Pocmi, Inc. | A Techstars Portfolio Company. POCMI provides end-to-end solutions that simplify the immigration process for employers and international professionals. We're incredibly grateful to Sophie Alcorn, Deedy Das, and our Co-Founder and CEO, Danielle Goldman for sharing their immigration expertise. Thank you also to Menlo Ventures for being such a gracious host. During the panel, Danielle spoke on the role of foreign nationals in the U.S., saying, "I believe that when foreign nationals contribute to the United States and to the social and economic fabric of this country, they should be able to get a pathway to a visa. You will have champions that will support and even go an extra mile in this journey." At The Build Fellowship, we are proud to be one of those champions and help drive innovation across the U.S. with the help of #globaltalent. #immigration #H1B #entrepreneurs #techtalent #tech #immigrationsolutions #visa #STEM #techweek

CEO, Human Agency. Cofounder, Build Fellowship. Building businesses, partnering with founders, and trying to change the world. 💪🏻
There is nothing better than understanding a founder's journey and leveraging that knowledge for your own path. It is why I love Founders Podcast (shoutout David Senra), and it is why we love what we do at The Build Fellowship by Open Avenues. We help international founders build and grow their companies in the U.S. through offering unique visa solutions to them and their top employees. Next week we are talking to a founder who has used our visa program to help retain top talent at his own company. Erkan founded AMEC Consulting L.L.C. where he runs an end-to-end vehicle testing firm, providing validation engineering and quality assurance services for the automotive and recreational vehicle industries with a team of engineers, technicians, drivers, analysts, and managers. You know those crazy stats they spit out during a Mercedes Benz commercial about torque and velocity? Erkan's company is the reason Mercedes knows those stats... If you want to join this conversation to learn from Erkan and how he has built his business in the U.S. join us next week for a live panel: https://lnkd.in/eH2YZBdd

The U.S. immigration system is incredibly difficult to navigate. But there are innovators in the space offering solutions to help your journey be less stressful. This year, I, along with some amazing cofounders, launched The Build Fellowship by Open Avenues to solve big problems in immigration. We provide an alternative path for foreign nationals founders and entrepreneurs to live, work, and thrive in the U.S. through a cap-exempt H-1B fellowship program. Over 55% of America’s unicorn startups—companies valued at $1 billion or more—were founded by an immigrant. We believe in the impact that global talent has on our economy and society— it fuels our team as we keep pushing to solve these important problems.
