Did you attend NWGIS UC with us this week? What were your highlights?
NWGIS UC is a wrap! What an incredible conference! Always a pleasure reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones. A few highlights: - David Howes' session: “𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙂𝙄𝙎 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡: 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨, 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨.” This session was a standout—so much openness and vulnerability. Being the only #GIS person can be overwhelming, from managing systems to juggling maps, apps, workflows, and more. The group shared their personal experience and advice about setting boundaries, prioritizing tasks, and using tools to simplify the job. - Bryce Gartrell's session: “𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙨, 𝙏𝙞𝙥𝙨, & 𝙊𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙍𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘼𝙧𝙘𝙂𝙄𝙎 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙙.” (I promise I'm not biased!) Bryce made this sometimes-intimidating topic feel approachable and clear. He broke down cloud architecture, shared best practices for optimizing performance and cost-efficiency, and showed how to leverage tools like #AWS and #Azure to scale GIS systems. He left the audience with actionable strategies to deploy, manage, and optimize #ArcGIS in the #cloud. - Singo Bingo: Let’s just say we tried our best. 😅 A massive shoutout to Keith, Eric, Samantha, Randy, and Jim for organizing another fantastic event!
