Attended the first day of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) Basic Compliance Academy! 🎉 It has been extremely educational and the speakers have made each session interactive sharing experiences that are truly invaluable. A couple of the biggest take aways from today's session were: 1. A compliance program is never finished; it should always be a work in progress. After you have established the framework for your program and are assured all the elements are working, your efforts will move from process to outcomes. 2. There is a difference between policies and procedures. Policies are principles, rules and guidelines formulated or adopted by an organization to reach long term goals. Procedures are the methods employed to express polices in action or day to day operations. They need to be written in a clear concise manner so that everyone (employee population) can understand and put it into action. Day #2 here we come! #healthcarecompliance #clarityrcm #dermatology
