We are so excited to announce that Leadership Academy Cohort VI is now open! 📝 Applications Open: Today through August 16 (or until Cohort is full) 🤝 Interviews: July 29 to August 16 The Just One Project's Leadership Academy is a FREE 90-day program for young adults ages 16-20, focusing on: 💓 Leadership Skill Development 💓 Civic Engagement: Volunteering w/ TJOP and other Non-Profits & Organizations 💓 Self-Development Skills: Working with Clinicians through group and individual therapy sessions 💓 Career & Educational Development: Certifications, Classes, Speakers, Field Trips, Resume/Interview Skills, and Immersive Experiences 💓 Personal Finance Skills: Budgeting, Saving, Credit Scores, & Understanding Finances Space is limited to 20 young adults. Many thanks to Giving Machines Las Vegas for partnering with us for last year’s “Light the World” campaign! These incredible “donation vending machines” allowed our community to give generously during the holiday season 💝 In total, we raised over $75,000 to support our programs! That includes fresh produce and groceries for families (plus holiday meals), healthy lunches for Leadership Academy students, and nutritious snacks for kids. We are so thankful to work with The Church of Latter Day Saints and Downtown Summerlin to provide food-insecure Southern Nevadans with fresh food throughout the year.

We had an incredible time yesterday at Mariana’s 11th Annual Golf Tournament! 💖 ⛳ ✨ Thank you to Mariana's Supermarkets for choosing The Just One Project as the beneficiary of this year’s tournament, raising $60,000 towards our grocery assistance programs. We love seeing our customers making headlines! The Venetian Resort Las Vegas was recently recognized by the White House for its outstanding collaboration with The Just One Project. These organizations launched The Food Rescue Alliance, a program with a mission to tackle food waste in southern Nevada. By packaging leftover meals from conventions at The Venetian Resort, The Food Rescue Alliance aims to provide fresh, delicious food to its local community at no cost. This program expects to provide over 250,000 meals to those facing food insecurity. A big thank you to Rhonda Ramirez Okurowski, Carolyn Sorgenfrei, Hector Cervantes, and Kayla Gerthoffer for getting up early on a Saturday to give back to the #lasvegas community! This was our first #culturefirst chapter event centered on volunteering and won't be our last. The Just One Project did an excellent job getting a lot of volunteers organized; as a result, we helped feed 160 households. (And please forgive the way my son looks in the picture. I promise he enjoyed the experience. 😃)

UnitedHealthcare Health Plan Of Nevada, Inc. Medicaid and The Just One Project collaborated to open three no-cost community markets serving Clark County School District students and their families, faculty and staff. The no-cost markets are providing fresh groceries, produce, recipes, nutritional advice, household items and more. Individuals and families who visit the market may also access The Just One Project's Community Connect wraparound services including homeless prevention assistance, rapid rehousing and other supportive services. Our collaboration also includes the “Groceries-on-the-Go” mobile grocery store on wheels, which is helping provide fresh food and household supplies to Nevadans living in food deserts. We wrapped up an amazing weekend at Shadow Creek with the Players Challenge presented by Coca-Cola, where we had the pleasure of watching some of professional football's finest athletes take to the course, all while leaving a lasting impact on our community. Our Chief People, Inclusion & Sustainability Officer, Jyoti Chopra, proudly presented our $40,000 donation to The Just One Project.
