We had a great time talking money last night at Financial Friends Denver. Thanks for sharing Jaime Foster!

✨ Just spent an amazing evening at The Pledgettes Financial Friends event at Cohesion Brewery! Thank you Jenn Uhen, CFEI® Ashley D. and Stephanie Vail! Talking about wealth, money, and business with an incredible group of women was beyond inspiring. Let’s be real—building a thriving coaching business isn’t just about hard work or passion; it’s about being comfortable talking openly about money. Why? Because when we embrace conversations around wealth, it’s not only empowering but also essential to expanding our impact. 🌍 When we let go of the awkwardness and approach money with confidence, we can create stronger connections, help more people, and (yes!) build a business that not only pays the bills but also funds our dreams. Here’s the thing: If you’re a wellness coach, life coach, or expert in your field, your wealth mindset directly affects the relationships you build and the people you can serve. Are you ready to shift how you think about money? 💸 What’s one thing you wish felt easier or more natural when it comes to talking about wealth in your business? Drop a comment below—I’d love to hear!

“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you.” — Maya Angelou I got to ask some hard-hitting, introspective questions of a founder in a mini retreat we did on Saturday. She was willing to be vulnerable about her vision for the future of her company and the areas where she may struggle along the way. We made some simple marketing refinements and streamlined some invoicing processes, but we wrapped the session with a list of what success looks like moving forward. Interestingly, she did not write money down as a goal. She wrote a list of gratitude in present tense of what she hoped for moving forward. It was so beautiful and thoughtful I was like “okay yeah I want all that too.” I get it! Being a founder is lonely. You HAVE to lean on others that are willing to recognize this and lift you up in ways you might not even know you need. And most importantly, you have to consider the community you have to support your pursuits and passions. That’s why I’m a member of The Pledgettes, where I learned *your financial journey is unique to you, your values, your goals, and the life you want to lead.* Money is just there to support that. Every goal is a financial goal and The Pledgettes offers the clarity, confidence, and support necessary to live your healthy, wealthy life. If you are looking for a community that has honest and open conversations about money, check out The Pledgettes and connect with founder Jenn Uhen, CFEI®. We have social events like Financial Friends, Book Club, Podcast Club, Movie Club, and Investing Club. And we have an event TODAY! Location: Cohesion Brewery (3851 Steele Street #Unit 1388 Denver, CO 80205) Date/Time: Monday, October 28th (6-8pm) RSVP Link in the comments.

We have a big tent as The Pledgettes is "Elevating women's voices, emboldening financial choices." That looks like: - hosting weekly money talks for women, by women. - bringing in female financial professionals to share their knowledge. - featuring women sharing their money experiences on our blog. If you have something to contribute to our community, let's talk!

Last week, I was in a wonderful conversation about the social contract between employee and employer being broken. As we were talking about, we saw a common theme. A third party joined the relationship without the employee's consent. That third party: shareholders and private equity. My prediction for the future: Employee-Owned Businesses (ESOP, Coop) ESOPs see increase employee retention and engagement, meaningful culture, strong performance, business longevity, and more. Okay, and to be balanced the third party can also be unions. I remember when Starbucks' Howard Schultz was complaining about unions because it would prevent the leadership talking directly with the employees. But who invited Private Equity and Shareholders in first?

Thanks Amy Sterner Nelson for sharing this. We can do better. If you are in a position to influence someone's compensation, be generous. Be generous with the offer you are making. Be generous with your time to support them in building negotiation skills. An increase to the compensation for a worker directly influences their lives and their purchasing power, which improves the economy. Paying people as little as possible for the benefit of the shareholder price, doesn't directly improve people's lives.

Award winning entrepreneur, Inc. Female Founder 100, recovering lawyer, & 4x girl mom. I teach women the skills and networks today that they can use to pivot their work or business tomorrow.

I’m going to upset people by saying this, but it needs to be said. This is a choice. This is a choice made every day by executives at American companies. It is not an accident. And these executives could - today or any day - make a different choice and pay women the same amount that they pay men for the same work. Women can’t solve it by leaning in any harder. I think we’ve proven that, haven’t we? This has to end. #wagegap #workingwomen

This week was wonderful with Denver Startup Week and PMI Mile Hi Chapter! We had a table at both events and as people would approach our booth, my first line was often… “we’re a safe place to talk money” with a follow-up, “if you initiate a money talk with one of our money conversation starters, we’ll celebrate you with a chocolate, trophy, or sticker.” It was so refreshing and exciting that so many of you accepted the invitation. Nothing feels better to me than being in a room of women talking money…and smiling with relaxed shoulders. Of course, there were some exceptions: "Why do we women need a safe space to talk about money? We should just talk about money!" And that's okay! That's wonderful that person feels that they have spaces to talk about money. 😬 If you feel you have those space and don't want more, we might not be what you need in life right now. 😍 If you have safe spaces to talk about money and want to be part of that for someone who may not yet have that, you belong with us! 😀 If you don't have safe spaces to talk about money, you belong with us! Thanks to everyone who we met this week for being brave and talking money! You are awesome! #denverstartupweek #pmimilehi #denverwomen #personalfinanceforwomen #celebratewomen
