On the sidelines of the final event of the Veneto Stars Challenge, the winners shared their satisfaction with the results achieved thanks to the week of coaching held in Veneto.

The final step of Veneto Stars 2024 has taken place! The final event featured participation from the European Space Agency, the University of Padua TESAF, and the ESA BIC startup incubator in Padua. It was a closing moment but, more importantly, a chance for participants and experts to exchange ideas. “Today we officially close the second edition of VeneTo Stars. We’ve come a long way: today marks the final step of an exciting journey that began in January in Brussels at the European Parliament, where we officially launched the challenge. This was followed by a promotion in April at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris,” said Calzavara, Veneto Digital Agenda Councilor. “Thanks to this ‘road show,’ numerous under-25 Europeans have engaged in designing services, applications, or even ‘experiments’ that, leveraging the properties of space data, can help safeguard, monitor, or enhance the vast cultural heritage and UNESCO sites recognized in our region. The three winning solutions address three fundamental assets for Veneto’s economy: tourism with coastal protection, historic cities, and the excellence of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, which will celebrate the 5th anniversary of their World Heritage status on Sunday.” Read more on website: https://lnkd.in/d4ywJkQk

Here’s what Alessandro Tampelloni the team leader of Thermix Space, explained to us about the idea presented for the 2024 Challenge, which turned out to be one of the three winners. THERMIX is an initiative born from the collaboration of university students from Rome and Milan. It aims to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, with a special focus on historic villages and areas surrounding internationally significant cultural heritage sites. Space data, primarily Earth Observation data, supported by an AI engine, allows for ‘personalized’ information about the roofs in the targeted areas. The goal is to produce a positive impact on the environment. The pilot case is in Verona, around the Arena.https://https://lnkd.in/dhFMeeUE

💫 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘅 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗖𝟱 🚀 During the 5th Italian Space Startup Competition (ISSC5) hosted by the Space Generation Advisory Council, Thermix Space was honored with another special award presented by the Scuola di Ingegneria Aerospaziale. 🪐 This distinguished recognition afforded us the privilege of visiting the esteemed Scuola di Ingegneria Aerospaziale of Università degli Studi di Roma 'La Sapienza'. 🌍 Our visit included a presentation of our innovative concept to the School's esteemed professors and experts, followed by an insightful tour of their cutting-edge laboratories. The warm reception and enthusiastic interest in our idea sparked discussions about future collaborations. 📂 As we reflect on this memorable experience, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Giovanni B.
