If you’re looking for a Halloween costume idea, what about going as your favorite Chipotle Mexican Grill item? Chipotle is teaming up with Spirit Halloween to launch a line of meme-worthy costumes: Chipotle burritos, a napkin, a fork, a water cup, or a to-go bag. Chipotle Chief Brand Officer Chris Brandt said in a statement, “Our popular Halloween tradition, Boorito, began with a burrito-themed costume contest and now we’re taking it to the next level with the launch of our first-ever costume collection collaboration.” The decorated bodysuits come in adult sizes only and cost just under $40. Feel like dressing up as a fork? #marketing #halloween #chipotle

If 2023 was the year of airlines expanding their European network with flashy new flights to smaller cities such as Porto and Venice, we are now seeing an explosion of interest in the African continent. United Airlines launched a number of new flights to Ghana and South Africa back in May while Delta Air Lines is bringing back new routes to Lagos, Nigeria from New York and Atlanta in December 2024. This came after budget airline Norse Atlantic Airways dropped an unexpected new 5,188-mile route between London and Cape Town, South Africa. Launched in 1982 as a competitor to British Airways, West Sussex-based Virgin Atlantic had a flight between London Heathrow Airport and Kotoka International Airport in Ghana's Accra that it discontinued in 2013 and is now bringing back 11 years later.

Ticketmaster and Live Nation are once again in the headlines....and for all the wrong reasons. Many tennis fans took to social media to complain after the ticket site struggled with its U.S. Open presale, drawing comparisons to earlier debacles with Taylor Swift's Eras tour. While the source of the criticism is new, issues with Ticketmaster's dominance in the live events industry is not new. Morgan Harper, director of policy & advocacy at the American Economic Liberties Project, discusses the company's monopolistic practices and the need for government action. #ticketmaster #antitrust #usopen

In a July 2024 appearance on the Decoder podcast, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe told host and The Verge editor-in-chief Nilay Patel that the supposed slowdown in EV growth is a result of an "extreme, truly extreme lack of choice," noting that buyers do not have many choices at an "affordable" price point besides two compelling products from Tesla. Although Scaringe recognized the Model 3 and Y as quality cars, he noted that much of its competition are copycats that do not offer much besides looking like Teslas; essentially treating the Model Y as a one-size-fits-all solution. South Korean automaker Hyundai knows that cars, especially EVs, do not have to be boring to offer something that sets itself apart from its competitors, as its latest model edges itself as a threat against Tesla's bestseller. The ad sales desert at X is going to get a lot worse next year.  A record number of companies plan to pull back their ad spending on the site in 2025, according to a global survey by market research firm Kantar. 26 percent of ad buyers say they will reduce spending on X in 2025.  Only 4 percent believe their ads will be placed away from extreme content on the platform, compared to 39 percent on Google properties like YouTube. Advertisers have grown tired of the antics of X’s billionaire CEO Elon Musk, who promised to clean up the site, but instead has pushed misinformation and other misdeeds.  Conway G. Gittens breaks down the latest on X and the other headlines driving Thursday's market conversation: #stocks #advertising #adsales #marketing

Not only are Alaska Airlines’ pilots exceptionally well trained — the airline recently invested in a $100 million training facility in Renton, Wash. — but all of its employees are guided by a shared spirit of integrity, caring, ingenuity, and professionalism that the company says stems from its Alaskan roots. In such Arctic regions, airplanes are not only a critical method of transportation but also serve as a vital link between communities, delivering passengers, mail, and supplies to remote and isolated areas. Alaska Airlines considers its 23,000 employees to be its greatest asset, which is a sentiment its customers would agree with, as the airline has been consecutively ranked among the top three airlines for customer service since 2008 by JD Power & Associates. So, exactly how much are Alaska Airlines pilots making? Let's take a look.
