The Wardrobe exists to be a place of support and respect for people who are dealing with trauma and crisis in their lives... today that includes all of us. The Wardrobe will be closed today so our team members can have a day of rest and reflection. If you have an appointment today at any of our sites (Philadelphia, Kennett Square, Upper Darby, Exton, PA), you will receive a call to reschedule. You may also come in at any time that is convenient for you as a drop in appointment.

About us
The Wardrobe is a nonprofit organization with the mission to eliminate clothing insecurity and curb fashion waste while empowering people for success. Because our supporters give and shop, 6,000 people annually leave The Wardrobe shining full of confidence in their new outfits. This year we are growing as we integrate Wings for Success in Chester County into our organization in order to expand education and coaching services throughout the region. Whether someone is in need of an outfit for work or everyday life or coaching to help them build their career, they receive free support and STAR Treatment - Styling, Time, Advice, and Respect. Our Wardrobes in Philadelphia, Delaware, and Chester Counties provide a sustainable shopping experience for our supporters who share the sales floor with our participants while they select their outfits at no charge. For those outside our area, we offer the Wardrobe Box both as a seasonal subscription box similar to Stitch Fix for shoppers or personally styled for free for participants. Each year we "upcycle" 200,000+ pounds of gently used or new clothing to provide a stable source of free quality clothing for our participant's needs whether it's workwear for a job search and employment or casual clothing for everyday. Every article of clothing donated to The Wardrobe is ethically repurposed for free guest services, resale inventory, or recycled with our partner Helpsy.

💙 This is what America looks like at The Wardrobe 💗 Open doors and open hearts! 🖤 We are so proud to have provided free clothing and resources to over 250 newcomers & refugees across our sites last Thursday. The vast majority of people that we served are new to this country and spoke Ukrainian, Spanish, Arabic, Dari, French, and more! There was even a line out the door an hour before we opened! This is what our mission is about - supporting anyone in need with care, clothing, and resources! We thank all of our supporters for their donations toward this important community!

Thank you TaRhonda Thomas of 6abc Action News for this amazing feature about our Program Director Mars Sharrock being named one of Out Magazine's 100 most impactful people in their 30th annual Out100 list! "Making people in the LGBTQ+ community feel included was one of Sharrock's goals about five years ago when they started working at The Wardrobe, which was founded to give professional women business suits. The organization now provides clothing for people of all gender identities." https://lnkd.in/ecNPc6x4

WARDROBE PROGRAM DIRECTOR, Mars Sharrock, NAMED TO OUT Magazine's 30TH ANNUAL OUT100 LIST AND WE ARE SO UNBELIEVABLY PROUD!!! Mars has been selected as one of this year’s honorees on the prestigious 30th annual Out100 list. Out, the world's leading fashion and lifestyle brand for the LGBTQ+ community, celebrates the most influential and pioneering LGBTQ+ individuals across entertainment, politics, activism, sports, and more. (https://lnkd.in/dgvJVs9a) Mars has been recognized for their remarkable contributions to eliminating clothing insecurity through their work at The Wardrobe, furthering equality and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community. Mars has helped The Wardrobe increase its services to transgender and queer community members by over 50 percent in just the past few years. Here's a quote by Mars in the OUT100 article: “Fashion — feeling good in what you wear — is an expression of self. Self-determination goes beyond basic needs and is about creativity, expression, and freedom.” This year’s Out100 theme, “Together, Unlimited,” highlights the power of collective strength within the LGBTQ+ community. Mars joins an illustrious list of trailblazers who have significantly impacted the world, both within and beyond the LGBTQ+ community. PLEASE JOIN US IN CONGRATULATING MARS ON THIS INCREDIBLE HONOR!!!! #outmagazine #Out100

Which Fashion Dash store team will you join or support??? The Fashion Dash is now LIVE and our 4 Wardrobe stores are competing against each other in a fierce race to win the dash. We encourage you to join the team of your choice (volunteer in Kennett Square? Then join Kindly Kennett!) and start FUNDracing to send your team to the finish line first! Please go to fashiondash.org to start! Even if you do not want to join a team and FUNDrace, you can donate to the store team of your choice to help them win their goal of raising $10,000. Together, we hope to raise $40,000 to provide free clothing and coaching to thousands of people throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. But we can't do it without you! Tonight is the big event! If you haven't purchased your ticket, no worries, you can still join us in-person by purchasing your ticket at the door for $95. (Friday, October 18, 5pm-8pm) Please note that while we cannot guarantee test-rides or ride-alongs to those purchasing their tickets at the door, we can still provide you with a lovely evening! Enjoy fabulous food, libations, cozy fire-pits, music, and a designer pop-up at our beautiful Wardrobe in the Exton Square Mall. **Slightly different location - still at Exton Square Mall! We have been able to secure an even better venue at The Exton Square Mall for this event! Instead of the upper parking garage, we will be at the outside restaurant area right by the Mainline Health/West Mall entrance. This area has a beautiful bar and fire-pits. Hope to see you there!!!
Tickets on sale!!! Have you ever wondered what it's like to drive a Porsche or Maserati? Or maybe an adrenaline rushing ride in a McLaren, Lamborghini, or Ferrari? All topped off with light bites, music, a designer pop-up, and libations during a roof-top celebration? If so, this is the event for you! Please join us for the Fashion Dash Grand Prix event (formerly the annual event, Wings & Wheels of The Wardrobe / Wings For Success) on Friday, October 18th from 5pm-8pm in partnership with Porsche of The Main Line. This event will take place on the upper level of the parking garage at The Exton Sq. Mall in Exton, PA 19341. This is a great way to directly support our participants while having a fabulous evening! Tickets are just $75 and can be purchased at: https://lnkd.in/exEUg8qi

Elliu recently shopped at our Philly Wardrobe for interview attire. Here's what he had to say about his experience: "Best experience I've ever had in a clothing store. The staff is super nice and accommodating, and they know how to style you top to bottom!" It was such a pleasure to work with Elliu and we think he looks fantastic in his new outfit. We wish him the best of luck and are always here for him!
