We often get inquiries about what to do with American flags that need to be retired. Well, thanks to Jessica Bird, a member of Troop 890's we now have an answer! 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 originally started as Jessica Bird's Eagle Project for Troop 890. American flag retirements are a solemn and dignified way to dispose of old or damaged flags that are no longer fit for display. The flag may be old, worn, faded, or torn beyond repair. This is a respectful and patriotic way to retire old flags, as opposed to simply throwing them away. If you have an American Flag that you would like assistance in retiring, please donate it to one of the boxes that Jessica has built. The collection boxes are located at Fire Station #1 (9951 Grogan's Mill Rd) and #5 (10100 Branch Crossing Dr), and The Woodlands Emergency Training Center (16135 Interstate 45 S).
