Developing Our Workforce

The Thresholds Workforce Development Department offers workshops, conferences and other training opportunities to Thresholds employees and outside providers, advocates, consumers and family members. Some Training Session/Seminar Topics include: -Understanding Mental Illness and Recovery -Cultural Diversity and Anti-Discrimination Policies -Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment -Safe Practices, de-escalation techniques, community violence, and crisis intervention -Leadership Development

Our Services

We offer 30 innovative programs at more than 100 locations throughout Chicago, the adjacent suburbs, and nine surrounding counties. Services include assertive outreach, case management, housing, employment, education, psychiatry, primary care, substance use treatment, and research. Last year, Thresholds served more than 16,000 adults and youth, with 75% of services delivered out in the community, representing more than 500,000 hours of care.

A panel of local experts discussed the latest trends, warning signs and the importance of creating an action plan for the workplace at the 2018 Employment Law Conference hosted by HR Source on September 27, 2018, at Northern Illinois University’s campus in Naperville, IL. Speakers included Chris Noone, SPHR, RCC, CTC, Chief Talent Officer, Thresholds; Marie Wilson, Senior Writer, Daily Herald; and Michael G. Nerheim, Lake County State’s Attorney.
