Congratulations to the authors Lina Windi Victoria Holmes Danelis Santos Elisa Konieczko from Gannon University on the acceptance of their poster abstract at American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB)!🎉 Be sure to check out their poster during the poster session and later at the Thrive Bio booth #719 to learn more about innovative imaging methods used to study cell proliferation and myotube formation. A big thank you to Paul Nguyen Casey Woodward Kenneth Chapman, PhD at Thrive Bioscience, Inc. Bio for supporting this impactful scientific work. Lina Windi is a senior biology student on the pre-medical tract at Gannon University. She has a deep interest in cell biology and anatomy, with plans to graduate with a BS in biology in May 2024. In addition to her academic workload, she is also a biology lab student worker and the senior research assistant in the Konieczko research lab, where her project explores the impact of alcohol on human female skeletal muscle cells, particularly in cell proliferation and myotube formation. Passionate about both research and clinical practice, Lina plans to attend medical school and pursue a career in surgery, combining her love for science and medicine. Victoria Holmes is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in biology at Gannon University, with plans to graduate with a B.S. in May 2024. Throughout her academic journey, she has gained valuable hands-on experience as a microbiology lab assistant and biology tutor, roles that have enhanced her understanding of the subject while helping others succeed. Victoria has also conducted several research projects, exploring various aspects of biology, with a particular focus on molecular and cellular biology with two Gannon University faculty members and a University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine faculty member. Passionate about advancing her studies, she aims to pursue a Ph.D. to further explore the complexities of the biological sciences. Danelis Santos is an undergraduate student at Gannon University, pursuing a degree in biology with a focus on pre-medicine. She will graduate with a BS in biology in December 2024. She has gained professional experience as a lab assistant in several biology courses over the years on campus, fostering collaboration and mentoring peers in academic settings. With a strong passion for anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and cell biology, Danelis is currently involved in a research project investigating the effects of alcohol on female skeletal muscle cells in the Konieczko research lab. Driven by a commitment to science and healthcare, Danelis plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as a surgeon, combining technical expertise with compassionate care.
