Hey #EducationInnovators! 👋 Ready to take your school from good to GREAT? Artificial Intelligence isn't just for tech giants anymore - it's your new secret weapon in education! But here's the million-dollar question: How do you actually USE AI in your school? 🤔 We've got you covered! Here is a high-leverage prompt you can use to analyze data and plan for productive change (bring your own data with this prompt): 🖥 Analyze our students' academic performance data from the past 3 years (2021-2023), focusing on standardized test scores, course grades, and attendance records. Please provide the following: 1. Trend Analysis: - Identify significant trends in overall student performance across grade levels (K-12). - Highlight any notable changes in performance patterns since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. 2. Learning Gap Identification: - Pinpoint specific subject areas and skills where students are consistently underperforming. - Break down these gaps by grade level, subject, and student subgroups (e.g., ESL, special education, socioeconomic status). - Identify any correlation between attendance patterns and academic performance. 3. Root Cause Analysis: - Based on the data, suggest potential root causes for the identified learning gaps. - Consider factors such as curriculum alignment, instructional methods, resource allocation, and external influences. 4. Personalized Intervention Strategies: - Propose tailored intervention strategies for each grade level, addressing the specific learning gaps identified. - For each strategy, include: a) Target student group b) Specific skills or subject areas addressed c) Recommended duration and frequency of intervention d) Suggested resources or tools to support the intervention e) Measurable success criteria 5. Resource Optimization: - Recommend how to reallocate or optimize existing resources (human, financial, technological) to support these interventions effectively. 6. Predictive Insights: - Based on current trends and proposed interventions, project the potential impact on student performance over the next 2 years. - Identify early warning indicators that could help predict and prevent future learning gaps. 7. Monitoring and Evaluation Plan: - Suggest a data-driven plan to monitor the effectiveness of the proposed interventions. - Include key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommended frequency of assessments. -------- Remember, AI is a tool, not a replacement for your expertise. Use these prompts as a starting point, then apply your unique insights to make magic happen! ✨ #AIinEducation #EdTech #SchoolLeadership #FutureOfLearning #EducationInnovation --- P.S. Great! I’m sure Governor Polis is aware of policies that do (and do not) drive positive academic outcomes for children. Policies that drive positive outcomes: ✅ Univerdal Pre-K ✅ Arts education ✅ Recess ✅ HQIM ✅ Great teachers (*cough* teacher pay!) ✅ Extended learning time Policies that don’t: 🚫 Grade retention 🚫 Zero-tolerance discipline policies 🚫 Private school vouchers What are we missing? As Utah’s Governor Cox passed the Chairmanship to Colorado’s Governor Polis and Vice Chair to Oklahoma’s Governor Stitt, the annual “Chair’s initiative” focus was announced……….. EDUCATION! It was an honor to join Dr. John King and some of our U.S. Governors to discuss the OUTCOMES we must focus on today and in the future to benefit our students and our country. 🇺🇸 There are so many people in Indiana linking arms to keep getting better, including literacy, STEM, and rethinking high school. School leaders, do you happen to be familiar with Recht and Leslie's 1988 study on background knowledge? The research, often referred to as the "baseball study," demonstrates a surprisingly strong correlation between background knowledge and reading success. Here's the key takeaway: students with a strong understanding of baseball, even those considered weak readers, outperformed strong readers with limited knowledge of the sport on comprehension tasks. This suggests that building foundational knowledge in a subject area can significantly enhance reading comprehension, even for struggling students. Ever feel like students are forgetting what you taught just weeks later? 🧠 The brilliant book "Make It Stick" has the solution for lasting learning. The authors' core insight? Learning happens best when it's effortful. Passive reading leads to fluency, but active practice embeds skills. As leaders, we need to move away from lecturing and towards: 🥊 Retrieval Practice: Low-stakes quizzing, problem-solving before teaching solutions, and back-and-forth dialogue solidify understanding. 🕰️ Spacing: Introduce concepts, reinforce over time through spaced repetition. No more rushing through material! 🔀 Interleaving: Mix multiple problem types rather than isolating skills. This builds flexible knowledge that transfers across domains. In short - make learning effortful, spaced, and interleaved for deeper retention and application. It's transforming how we approach professional development at ThriveEd. See examples of these powerful strategies in action at https://lnkd.in/gpAJFQVt and revolutionize learning at your school!
