Thursday, February 15th 6:30 - 8:00 PM EST via Zoom What are Neurodiversity Affirming Practices and why do we need them? FREE PARENT SUPPORT GROUP Thursday, December 21st, 2023 6:30 - 8:00 PM EST via Zoom 'Tis the Season to be Neurospicy: Embracing the Challenges of Neurodiversity During the Holidays Join Dr. Rick Silver MD and Mary Jo Puglisi, LCPC for a lively, 1.5 hour open discussion to answer your questions about embracing the challenges during the holidays for your neurodivergent teen or young adult. The Holidays can be a blessing…and a challenge. With the excitement of joining with loved ones can come a great deal of stress. For those of us who are neurodivergent, meeting the social and emotional expectations of family and friends during the holidays can feel exhausting at times. And as the parents trying to balance the needs of our neurodivergent kids with those of our neurotypical kin, it can be a harrowing exercise in patience. Rick Silver MD and Mary Jo Puglisi LCPC are themselves both neurodiverse and parents of neurodiverse kids. We know very well the challenges of this time of year – and have some hints and hacks for making the holiday less stressful and more enjoyable. While we are all striving for peace on earth, let’s start with making our homes as loving, calm and affirming as possible.
