Is AI killing creativity? 🤖✨ We all love the efficiency and precision that AI brings to our work—especially in marketing. But what if I told you that in our rush to make AI safer and less biased, we might be losing one of its most valuable assets? Creativity. I recently explored this issue in my latest article, diving into new research on the trade-offs between AI alignment and creativity. Here are some key takeaways: Aligned AI models—those designed to avoid bias and inappropriate content—may produce safer, more predictable results. But here’s the catch: alignment comes at a price. These models often lack the diversity and innovation needed for creative tasks like copywriting or ad creation. Unaligned or "base" models may offer more variety and novelty, but with higher risks of generating undesirable content. So, what does this mean for the future of AI in creative fields like marketing? Should we prioritize safety at the expense of innovation, or can we find a balance? 🤔 Where do you think the line should be drawn between AI safety and creativity?
