Our hearts and prayers are with the millions of people from Florida to the southern Appalachians in the path of devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, one of the deadliest storms in U.S. history. The storm has left vast swaths of the region unrecognizable, communities that so many of our clients and teammates call home.   Many of our neighbors were cut off and stranded as floodwaters washed away hundreds of roads, buildings, homes, and vehicles. Communication infrastructure is still in shreds. Many are still without power and water. And most painful by far, the storm has caused more than 170 deaths with hundreds more unaccounted for, mostly in western North Carolina.
