Time for London Liverpool Street

"...the overwhelming response has been that it’s time to get on with making Liverpool Street station the best that it can be,” says Robin Dobson, Network Rail's group property director. Network Rail Property, the country’s biggest owner of brownfield land, is taking a more proactive and assertive role in regeneration. It used to be a net seller of land. Now, through partnerships and driving schemes forward under its own name, Network Rail is creating homes and jobs on underutilised brownfield sites, and generating the funding to upgrade its crumbling Victorian infrastructure. I was recently told - a woman will have fewer than 10 different hairstyles across the span of her life. What? Bucking the trend on this, I knew it couldn't be true. According to research, the number is closer to a whopping 150 changes from the age of 15-65. I could go on but that's not the point of this post. We embrace change when it offers us something we need, want and can't do without. It's now time for London Liverpool Street station to step forward. Long overdue a transformation, it is Britain's busiest station, almost 100 million people passing through last year. As the busiest rail station in Britain, London Liverpool Street is long overdue for a transformation. With the recent addition of the Elizabeth Line, this critical hub now connects over 100 million people annually—a number only set to grow in the coming decades.   Network Rail Property is leading plans to elevate the station’s passenger experience through private finance, proposing a state-of-the-art office building right above the station concourse. This exciting project aims to improve day-to-day life for commuters and future-proof the station for decades to come.   We’re thrilled to be part of this transformative journey. AECOM worked with ACME in providing multi-disciplinary engineering services, as well as expertise in sustainability, transportation, and environmental impact assessment.
