In a rapidly changing landscape like #edgeAI, which can include numerous technologies like #tinyml, #neuromorphic computing, #analogAI and even #generativeAI - the most successful companies will be those that think back from the customer (JTBD) and solve real problems as a community. We see that in critical infrastructure, retail, healthcare and industrial environments. Find a meaningful problem and solve it.

Good write up from Anshel Sag on not only the state of the art for vision wearables but also the approach of Snap with developers and the wider market. Rather than foist an expensive and potentially disappointing experience on end users (or commercial customers) Snap Inc. is carefully building a platform and cultivating developers as the technology develops. It’s an important and wise cycle to get the tech to a breakthrough moment - which is coming. I expect this category to be a key innovator in #edgeAI technologies as the #snapdragon and other platforms are leveraged for their #AI acceleration capabilities with super efficient power, size (and cost, ultimately). Watch this space!
After spending a good amount of time with Snap Inc.'s Spectacles #AR glasses, I have finally written up something for Forbes. Snap and much of the industry is still on a long journey to making standalone AR glasses a reality, but its quite clear that the experiences and immersion are improving over previous generations, and the laws of physics continue to be challenging for waveguides. Like many others, Snap's approach to AR heavily integrates AI, and the company's partnerships with OpenAI and Niantic, Inc. make that clear. I had a great time sharing Es Devlin's Council experience with Dr. Helen Papagiannis, Ph.D., Ziad Asghar, Michael Boland, and Patrick Costello.

This is an important read (although it's a bit dense). It's good to see the US Government taking the opportunities and challenges of AI seriously with these actions, and having an ecosystem approach to develop trustworthy and transparent AI is the only way to go. AI on the edge is no different and we need to consider how these policies, best practices and potentially regulations work from cloud to edge to unleash innovation but do so responsibly. At the Foundation we're committed to supporting this process and look forward to more progress. - Pete Bernard
