AI 🤝 fitness. Boardroom Tech Reporter Michelai A. Graham shares how AI in smart home gyms is on the rise with Tonal at the forefront. What sets Tonal apart? Its ability to cater to all fitness levels. “It’s a full gym with personal training that gets smarter and more efficient the more you use it,” said Tonal Chief Product and Content Officer Jonathan Shottan. “We’re building systems of control so that even if you’re a novice strength trainer, you can walk up to this device and achieve a high degree of confidence in your ability to complete the workout.” ➡️ Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/g4c_bdCM

Building Tonal 2 took a village. From developing new features to product testing, nearly all of our team members had a hand in the Tonal 2 launch including Staff Data Scientist, Steven Hirsch, Ph.D. 🎓 Steven has his Ph.D. in exercise science. His current area of research is sport, exercise, and occupational biomechanics. 💻 He has worked for several years on various machine learning and computer vision projects for assessing and quantifying human motion for exercise, physiotherapy, sport performance, and sports broadcast applications. 🏋 Plus, he's a former strength and conditioning coach and competitive Olympic weightlifter. Tonal CEO Darren MacDonald shares how Tonal is constantly innovating to bring new value to members on iHeartMedia CEOs You Should Know podcast with Steve DeLusant. Tonal recently launched automatic drop sets, a new take on an old-school lifting technique. "At a gym, it takes four people to do it, but with Tonal you can do it without anybody,” said Darren. “It’s that sort of innovation mentality, developing those types of features that I think is at the heart of everything we do.” 🎧 Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/gGF8seVG

There’s no such thing as an overnight success, and that’s especially true when it comes to training. Consistency is key for building muscle and strength. 💪 That’s why our multi-week programs help drive real results. On Tonal, members who follow programs are 55% more consistent week-over-week than those who only do one-off workouts. Our programs are typically 2 to 4 weeks. But now, we’re launching our FIRST-EVER 12-Week program with coach Joe Rodonis designed to guide members through a science-backed periodization plan following the principles of progressive overload. 🗓️ Three months gives members time to work through alternating phases of accumulation (high-rep sets for hypertrophy) and intensification (heavy lifting for strength gains), to drive real results. “Proper training is purposeful,” says Rodonis. “It’s not just about working hard; you have to have a smart approach as well, knowing how to manage fatigue and volume so you can continue to perform at a high level without crashing out.” ✨ The magic of Tonal is that we take care of the science, so you can show up, tap in, get to work, and reap the rewards.

February is American Heart Month, and we're partnering with the American Heart Association to raise funds and bring awareness to the impact of strength training for heart health. 🫀💪 ✨ Last week, we hosted American Heart Association partners and influencers at the Tonal Training Lab for our newly launched Heart Hustle workout. Plus our very own Coach Ackeem Emmons, Coach Ashley Wilking and Senior Marketing Manager Christopher Hunt represented Tonal at the Red Dress Collection Concert in NYC. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of adults in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control. It's an issue that's close to our hearts, as we hear from our member community that many are heart attack survivors making lifestyle changes to protect their hearts, or people who have a family history of heart disease and are now taking preventative measures. If you feel called to support the research, education and prevention of heart disease, donate here: https://lnkd.in/gMYBuF_H.
