We’re incredibly proud of our client, Camillus House, and the amazing work they do to transform lives. Miami Herald reporter Rebecca San Juan recently featured the nonprofit’s impact, sharing the story of Kendrick Moore. A former Marine, Kendrick never expected to injure his knee and say goodbye to his fellow Marines and the family he had built in the military. Back in civilian life, adjusting was difficult, and a series of challenges eventually led him to living in his car. At Camillus House, he found not only shelter but also hope and opportunity. Through Camillus House’s comprehensive services, Kendrick trained as a chef and secured stable housing, embarking on a new beginning. His journey is a testament to the life-changing work Camillus House does every day, offering more than just a place to stay. As Camillus House CEO Eddie Gloria reminds us, Miami’s affordability crisis is a harsh reality that can affect anyone. “The wealth gap and affordability crisis are exacerbated in a city like Miami. A lot of the areas where the abuelos, abuelas, tíos and tías were safe with fixed prices, trailer parks are no longer safe. They have nowhere to go,” Eddie told the Miami Herald. “Homelessness is something that can happen to anyone. We are two to three brushes away from it.” Camillus House provides the tools and support to rebuild lives and end homelessness. We are honored to work with such a dedicated organization. Florida is bracing for another powerful storm, Hurricane Milton, just weeks after Hurricane Helene. Now a Category 5 with 160 mph winds, Milton is expected to hit the Gulf Coast and southeastern U.S. soon. ⚠️ Stay Informed and Track the Storm: For the latest updates on Hurricane Milton’s path, intensity, and potential impact, you can track the storm and read more details on the National Hurricane Center’s website. Visit the link below our for real-time information and forecasts. ⚠️ What You Can Do: Preparing for a major hurricane is essential. Follow the American Red Cross guide for hurricane preparedness, including: • If advised to evacuate, do so immediately. • Sign up for free emergency alerts from your local government. • Understand the types of alerts that you may receive and have a plan to respond when you receive them. - A 'WATCH' means 'Be Prepared!' - A 'WARNING' means 'Take Action!' • Identify a designated safe shelter for high winds. The next best protection is a small room with no windows on a sturdy building that is not likely to flood. • If you plan to shelter safely, be ready to live without power, water, gas, phone and internet for a long time. • If you evacuated, wait for officials to say it is safe before going back home. #hurricanepreparedness #hurricaneseason #hurricanemilton #hurricane
