This week our NICU received a generous donation of books from Harold’s Hopes to add to our NICU library. Throughout the year their family organizes special children’s book drives to donate to a selected hospital NICU. Harold's Hope is named after Miesha's son, Harold, born 18 weeks premature, weighing just 1lb 1oz. He spent four months in the NICU, and during the first six weeks, we couldn’t touch or hold him because he was so fragile. We found comfort and connection by reading to him, and it became our way to bond during that challenging time. Now, they share that same sense of comfort and connection with other NICU families through their book drives. Thank you, Harold's Hopes for your kind donation!

Happy #HispanicHeritageMonth! Meet Pilar Morrison, a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist here at Touro. Pilar shared, that Hispanic Heritage Month is important to her because "it connects people with different cultures, traditions and values. It fosters pride and strengthens bonds." She's proud of her Cuban heritage and values "the importance of family, Cuban cuisine (especially Christmas dinner with lechon, black beans and rice yuca), culture, generosity, kindness and values." You're extraordinary, Pilar!
