Towerscope Leadership Academy

Professional Training and Coaching

A private learning community for women in STEM, tech, healthcare, and academia who want to elevate their impact.

About us

There is tremendous opportunity that comes with a leadership role. But it can also be accompanied by an unsettling mix of pressures from your own personal expectations, your team and organizational expectations, and a confusing mix of societal expectations of how women “should” be and act as leaders. How do you tease these apart so you can become the most authentic, effective, and impactful leader you can? Towerscope Leadership Academy (TLA) is a social impact-focused leadership development membership community providing mentorship, coaching, and consulting to leaders in healthcare, academia, and STEM. TLA is developed by @Towerscope, a woman-owned company, to support women-centered leaders in their leadership identity and impact journey. Through small peer groups, a tech-enabled platform, an expert-led research-based curriculum, live calls with a Board of Directors, networking, and opportunities to be matched to an accountability partner, we offer high value at an accessible price point.

  • Our Advisor Board member, Olivia Nadasan, shares her experience here of the Lead Forward Exchange!

Head of Deal Solutions @ NUTANIX | WW RevOps | GTM | Deal Strategy | Team Builder | Board Advisor | #proudtoberomanian

On a rainy September night after we all finished with our days, we came together for the “Lead Forward Exchange” by Towerscope to learn and connect with leaders from across various industries. As women in business we often feel the pressure to do it all, but true effectiveness comes from finding balance. Here are some key insights that resonated with me: ➡️outsource personal tasks that others can handle - trust those around you ➡️delegate responsibilities when possible - it empowers your team and lightens your load ➡️recognize when ‘good enough’ is just that ➡️perfection is almost impossible so being at 70% is also fine ➡️don’t beat yourself up if you’ve made a mistake - learn from it, address it and move on My favorite takeaway was “You can do anything, but you can’t do everything”! Thanks to everyone on the panel: Tiamesha Walker-Smith, Ed.D. , Aynsley Szczesniak, Michelle Proctor, Kate Scott, MS, MBA, Mara Becker and Ranya Hahn that contributed to these valuable discussions, to Dr. Mira Brancu for bringing us together and to On Prem Events and Experiences that designed this amazing experience! I’m asked often about the best ways for women to build a professional network and create meaningful relationships. This is it! Find your “people” that can support and encourage you on your journey!

What an inspiring evening bringing to life elements of the Towerscope Leadership Academy into the local community in-person experience at our first ever Lead Forward Exchange! It was such a pleasure to also have our very own Olivia Nadasan and Emily Sterrett as fantastic representatives of our community there. 💜💜💜 Take a look at what our Founder shared about it (both highlights and foibles 😄)

Highlights and Foibles from Towerscope's Lead Forward Exchange last night: My top 3 Highlights: 1. On Prem Events and Experiences helped me design and implement a memorable and unique experience to bring the Towerscope Leadership Academy's online community into a live learning and networking experience for women leaders and disruptors in STEM, academia, technology, and entrepreneurship! 2. I was so honored to have Executive Directors Tiamesha Walker-Smith, Ed.D. of ATHENA of the Triangle and Aynsley Szczesniak and Speak Out Sisterhood serve as both guest panelists and co-sponsors. Together with additionally inspiring panel speakers Kate Scott, MS, MBA, Michelle Proctor, Dr. Mara Becker, and Ranya Hahn, their collective stories were vulnerable, relatable, and inspiring and helped participants immediately connect and feel at ease. 3. The follow-up speed exchange was so fun and rewarding. I got a chance to connect people within and across industries and at various stages of their leadership journey to help each person make real connections with at least 12 other people - more than you can typically count on at larger events! My 2 Behind-the-Scenes Foibles: 1. I had completely overscheduled myself the day of the event (and the whole week before) leaving me minimal wiggle room to address last minute changes or prep! That same day, I co-facilitated an all-day intense "team repair retreat", followed by a 1-hr kick-off of a new group coaching cohort, and then immediately drove over to this event. WHYYYY do I do this to myself??? Why do I never learn? (It's clearly because I'm rewarded too often for pulling things like this off anyway....) Thank goodness for On Prem Events and Experiences and Olivia Nadasan who were my right and left-hand all-woman team-who-made-the-dream work. 2. The night before, I had dragged into the event space all kinds of random boxes I had ordered from Amazon to provide snacks, pens, paper, etc. When On Prem Events and Experiences dug through them to prepare the room, the pulled out several boxes of espresso pods 🤣 I was so busy, I had barely opened those bags I dragged in. They were cracking me up making jokes about all the potential things they could have found in my Amazon purchases - thank goodness it was just espresso pods - HAH! Were you there? What highlights and/or foibles did you experience at the event (or before or after)?

This is the LAST DAY in which you can enroll in our 7-session leadership identity development accelerator program, FUEL, to help you prepare for your next leadership step or improve your current leadership strategy. Still not sure it's right for you? Here's what our most recent cohort participants said about the program: "The program expanded my network is such a positive way. I've gone from meeting them and working alongside them on my skills to calling them my friends." "The program fosters connections beyond the learning skill-up." "So many of us have found our next gig through our networking opportunities! It's kept our professional network up to date." "The opportunities to learn new content, reflect, and connect with other passionate, driven, successful women are beneficial. You've cultivated a safe learning space where individuals can be authentic, vulnerable, and grow at their own pace." "It's been enlightening to note the common challenges faced in various industries and invaluable to connect and learn from others. This is not a competitive environment — successes are celebrated and setbacks are shared. This has been an amazing way to learn and grow." "Helped me understand myself, build confidence in who I am in the workplace, and make decisions on what steps I am going to take in the immediate future." "The asynchronous activities are convenient for busy people, there is a nice balance of opportunities for introspection and also direct advice/guidance from others." "I've learned so much from interacting with the other amazing women in the program." "Thank you for seeing a need for this space. The curriculum, opportunities for application, and connection have been tremendously impactful." Bottom line: You get: Time-efficient learning: The program requires just 7 hours over 10 weeks, with 2 extra months of access to keep you on track. Supportive community: Connect with like-minded leaders in highly disrupted industries like STEM, tech, healthcare, and more. Money-back guarantee: If you fully participate and don’t find value, we'll offer a refund (minus the leadership assessment cost). If this resonated, enroll now before we close out: https://bit.ly/3Zp6D4s

  • One day left to enroll in our sister program!

Feeling a bit boxed in, trapped, or pigeon-holed in your current leadership journey? Feeling like you might be a bit of a "leadership misfit"? Join us for a transformational 7-session leadership identity program that will help you gain more clarity and direction to prepare for your next leadership step or improve your current leadership strategy. There is only ONE DAY left to enroll. Here are answers to the most common questions to help you make a good decision: 1. What if I can't make it to some of the sessions? Don't worry! The learning part of the content is self-paced - each week or two, we assign a new module to review at your own pace, along with options for engaging with others in our private community platform. For the live calls, we know folks can't always attend all the workshops and group meetings we offer, so we record them for folks who want to catch up later. 2. I'm really interested but I'm worried I don't have the time. What is the time requirement? All our participants are really busy with lots of responsibilities. We don't want to add to the stress - we are here to provide connection, support, and many opportunities to learn and grow, but definitely not at the expense of your stress. Most weeks, it is an hour or less of your time (about 7 hours across 10 weeks, plus bonus opportunities if you are really eager to learn and connect more). But to make it even less of a worry, we are offering 2 extra months of access to catch up and/or to connect more - just in case life gets away from you during the 10 weeks of the official program. 3. I like to make very thoughtful decisions about where I put my time and money. How will I know this is worth it? Totally 💯 get it - I am exactly the same way! I deliberate all my investment decisions (both time and money). I have no interest in wasting people's time so I developed this program to get the most value out of the least amount of time. As a result, this program costs a tenth of what corporate leadership programs and large venture-backed women's membership groups cost, but unlike most of those costly programs, it's designed by a psychologist who was a leader herself, pulling from both personal experience, expertise on behavior and organizational change outcomes, and years of positive client feedback. Oh, and don't forget: if your organization has professional development funds, you can use those for this program. Reach out if you are not sure how. 4. What if I am not currently working? Can I still join (and is it worth it)? Absolutely! We have participants going through all kinds of transitions, including folks who left their last role, but are unsure of their next steps. This is probably the best investment you can make in developing yourself personally and professionally, through up-skilling, expanding your network, and developing a strong social support system. Enroll here to start with the next cohort the week of September 23!: https://bit.ly/47tQ7Sv

Why did I choose to call my new 7-session leadership development program "FUEL"? It stands for Focused, Unstoppable, Empowered Leadership. Why those words? Well, the partial truth is used ChatGPT to help me LOL. But, the full truth is that I went through many iterations until it felt like the right set of words to describe the full experience, outcomes, and content I've pulled together for this program. Here is what each of them really means: FOCUSED: When we make decisions from a place of reacting to opportunity or to problems constantly being thrown at us, we don't have an opportunity to make the kind of wise, strategic, intentional proactive decisions that will bring us the greatest energy and joy out of our work. UNSTOPPABLE: When you have gained exceptional clarity about your strengths, values, and boundaries, you are truly unstoppable - and in all the right ways. EMPOWERED: When you feel you have the agency and path to take, you can finally feel empowered to make the choices that are right for you - and for those around you who count on you. LEADERSHIP: When you let go of what you think a leader can be, and embrace knowing how to show up as a leader in all spaces - meaning someone who creates the best environment for others to thrive, you can make a greater impact that is more rewarding, fulfilling, and meaningful. Because it's not about the official job or title you have. It's about the power you hold to make a difference. Does the above resonate? Feeling boxed in, trapped, or pigeon-holed? Feeling like you might be a bit of a misfit? It's time to feel more focused, unstoppable, and empowered in your current role or next steps. You've still got TWO days to enroll. DM me if you have any questions: https://bit.ly/4e2gT6Z
