The TRANSIT project is an EU initiative that aims to bridge the knowledge gaps and address challenges related to large-scale deployment of renewable energy solutions across Europe. One of the key goals of TRANSIT is to provide sustainable training and reskilling programs on a multidisciplinary approach to renewable energy for current and future generations. The project focuses on identifying global and local challenges hindering the widespread adoption of renewable energy, taking into account socio-economic-environmental aspects and externalities. TRANSIT aims to create a future-proof framework for educational programmes informed by industry-academic collaborations, instilling knowledge about circularity concepts like recyclable-by-design and critical raw materials. We’re developing dedicated educational materials, delivering hands-on training and providing internships at world-leading research centres, to fill knowledge gaps and upskill the workforce. You can view our online courses here: https://lnkd.in/dmWu8QbA The project brings together a balanced mix of stakeholders from EU regions and beyond, including policymakers, large industries, trade associations, universities, research organisations, and community engagement groups. 🤝 One of TRANSIT project core activities is developing internships for international trainees, who visit a business related to energy transition to learn and discover weaknesses and strengths. Based on the principle of “learning by doing”, the participant’s experience during the two-week visit to the host company allow them to learn first-hand about the real challenges of the renewable energy industry in terms of best practices, needs, and expectations. The experience gained can be then transferred to multidisciplinary education and training programs. Two more internships finished recently: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charalambos, from Cyprus, had the opportunity to visit Certification Entity for Renewable Eenergies (CERE), by UL Solutions in Madrid, Spain. He described the experience as follows: "From my experience, I find the area that CERE deals with very interesting, as it is very close to my job responsibilities as a research engineer dealing with power systems and renewable energy. I received a very friendly and constructive approach from the company's employees, especially from Samuel Rodríguez Carmona. Samuel, with his knowledge and very constructive attitude, helped me successfully complete the training goals and acquire knowledge, improving my skills to use programs such as PyCharm and DIgSILENT." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ester, from Tanzania, had the opportunity to visit Elektrodistribucija Srbije doo Belgrade, an electricity distribution company in Serbia. In the words of ester, "I deeply appreciate the opportunity to observe the practical operation of the distribution network and connect my theoretical knowledge with real-world practices. Understanding the challenges you encounter in running the network and how you address them, as well as your approach to network planning, has been an invaluable experience." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #TRANSITinternships
