North America Environmental, Safety, and Sustainability Specialist at Plastivaloire America
I wanted to share with you all an exciting new project happening at the Plastivaloire America New Baltimore plant. Recently, a community vegetable garden was planted in the field adjacent to the parking lot. This garden aims to provide those working in the plant with fresh, locally grown produce to enjoy and take home. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and jalapenos were planted 😁 The raised beds were made from scrap pallets and a wooden crate that previously held a tool shipment. All other materials were purchased in support of local businesses in New Baltimore. We even had loose soil delivered to eliminate the waste that would have come from bagged soil. I want to thank the maintenance, tooling, and HR (Tom Blanchett and Jeffery Lee), teams for their support during this project. I couldn’t have done it without them! Now we wait for the literal fruits of our labor! I'm excited to watch this garden grow and to see those in the plant enjoy the future harvest!
