Congestion pricing is about more than funding the MTA. It's about our lungs, our lives, even our access to the heroes we need most in an emergency. We hope the FDNY will join us in pushing Governor Hochul to stop her charade and launch congestion pricing now.

Transportation Alternatives is your advocate for bicycling, walking and public transit in New York City.
About us
Transportation Alternatives’ mission is to reclaim New York City's streets from the automobile and to advocate for better bicycling, walking, and public transit for all New Yorkers. Streets and sidewalks are 80% of our public space in New York City – but right now, our lives are polluted, congested, and endangered by car and truck traffic. Transportation Alternatives believes that this public space belongs to the people of New York City, and we are working with New Yorkers in every borough to reclaim our streets.

Outdoor dining saved 100,000 jobs after the pandemic started — and put parking to higher use. Instead of building on that progress, we're receding. Just 3% of the applications for the new program came from the Bronx. We need a permanent, year-round outdoor dining program.

But that’s not all — we’ve got BIG news from McGuinness Boulevard! 🙌 A huge thank you to our North Brooklyn Committee activists, the elected officials who stood with us, and the 10,000 neighbors who signed our petition. Your advocacy and dedication made this possible! Don’t miss out — check out our full newsletter for all the details!
