I recently had the privilege of returning to the Dangote Petroleum & Petrochemicals (Dangote Refinery) & Dangote Fertiliser in my role as a Technical Sales Engineer at TREXM Holdings, presenting the FLIR Systems Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) product technological benefits & features alongside Johan Janse van Vuuen (Fires), Olorunfemi Oke, and Temitayo Adeleke-Adeyi. We had the pleasure of engaging with an exceptional team of seasoned professionals across multiple departments, including Fire, Environmental, Safety, Operations, Inspection, Process, and management. This collaborative experience allowed us to showcase the capabilities of the FLIR Systems Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) scanner and demonstrate how it can enhance safety and operational efficiency in the oil and gas sector. The OGI scanner detects a broad spectrum of gas leak compounds, including hydrocarbons, VOCs, and methane, with the unique advantage of requiring no calibration. Additionally, the FLIR G and GF- Series measure thermal radiation from critical equipment, offering real-time condition monitoring that bolsters predictive maintenance. This advanced OGI technology brings powerful benefits by proactively detecting leaks and monitoring equipment conditions, leading to: 1. Enhanced safety for personnel and environmental protection 2. Improved productivity through preventive action 3. Reduced capital and operational costs 4. I recently had the opportunity to visit Axxela a company distinguished for delivering cutting-edge energy solutions that support the socio-economic development and industrialization of West Africa. Their commitment to innovation and sustainability is evident in their operations. During the visit, as a Technical Solutions Engineer from TREXM Holdings, I conducted an in-depth assessment of the challenges within their natural gas operating system. This assessment was done with 2 operations engineer from Axella. Leveraging my engineering expertise, I was able to not only identify the root cause but also provide immediate technical recommendations for optimizing their natural gas system. These recommendations focus on improving operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and enhancing the overall reliability of their process infrastructure. It was an insightful and productive session, and I look forward to further engagements with Axella to implement these solutions and drive continuous operational improvements.

Bringing Energy to Life is Egbin Power PLC mission, and as a Technical Solution Engineer at TREXM Holdings, it’s my responsibility to ensure that the energy coming to life is both healthy and sustainable. Recently, my colleague, Oluwaseyi Oguntuberu, and I had the opportunity to visit Egbin Power PLC, one of the largest power generation companies in sub-Saharan Africa. Egbin plays a critical role in Nigeria's energy sector, supplying electricity to millions of households and businesses. Our visit was aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of Egbin Power PLC operational challenges and identifying solutions to enhance their efficiency and energy output. We engaged with their team, assessed their current systems, and are now working to deliver tailored solutions that align with their goal of providing uninterrupted and reliable power. By addressing the issues we identified, we aim to not only support Egbin Power PLC operations but also contribute to a healthier, more reliable energy supply for the nation.

Time does fly indeed. We can't believe it's been one week since the 2024 Nigeria Hydrocarbon Measurement Conference (NiHMEC) wrapped up.
