Last week, TriangleCIO had the privilege of attending Inside WakeMed, an incredible event that showcased the hospital's mission to provide care for all and create a healthier future for the communities they serve. 🏥 WakeMed's CEO, Donald Gintzig, shared his passionate commitment to reducing preventable cases—over 70% of what they see—and leveraging technology and professional care to focus on prevention. Their goal? Ensuring fewer people find themselves in the hospital in the first place. 📣 A huge shoutout to CIO Pete Marks and VP, Marketing and Communications Debbie Laughery for organizing a comprehensive and inspiring presentation and tour of WakeMed’s innovative facilities. Some highlights included: 💪🏼 Visiting the rehab center, where an exoskeleton is helping patients recover faster with greater precision and less human error. 🍼 Seeing the NICU, where advanced technology is being used to care for newborns and keep families connected and informed. 🫀 Touring the cath lab, where providers can rapidly identify and intervene in emergency situations, saving lives in real time. It was amazing to witness the intersection of cutting-edge technology and compassionate care.
