What would you do if someone was in crisis? This month, 18 staff members from the Wilson County Department of Social Services completed Community Crisis Intervention training. They learned more about substance use disorder, suicide prevention, and verbal de-escalation. Now they’re better equipped to support people in our community facing mental health and behavioral health challenges! This month, while people across the country participated in Buddy Walks for Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Daniel Chaplin crossed the finish line at a half-marathon in Missouri. He became the first person with Down syndrome to complete a half-marathon in every state. What an achievement! His accomplishment is a powerful reminder that people with Down syndrome have their own unique strengths, talents, and challenges, just like everyone else. Congratulations, Daniel!

In honor of #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re focusing on the importance of mental health at work—because well-being should be a part of every job. At Trillium, we know that taking care of our members begins with supporting and developing our team.
