Today concludes our swim safety series with our third tip! Don’t forget to warm up your muscles. Even though swimming is considered a low impact and gentle activity, it’s important to stretch and prepare. This lowers your risk for strain-related injuries.

We are thrilled to announce the success of our Blessing Ceremony for the new Trinity Health PACE program in Alexandria, Louisiana! We were honored to have Very Reverend Craig Scott, Vicar General of the Diocese of Alexandria, lead the ceremony. Hanging out at the beach or in a pool? Stay alert and healthy with our second swim safety tip! Remember to take note of temperatures. If the water reaches over 104 degrees or under 70 degrees Fahrenheit, skip the swim. Find an indoor pool to avoid heat-related illnesses.

Our Ace of PACE program encourages colleagues to give their coworkers a shoutout and spread positivity. We’d like to recognize Health Information Specialist Deborah Phelon from our Massachusetts program as an Ace of PACE. Her nomination read: “Debbie has assisted tremendously with external scheduling needs during a transitional phase at our center. She has interceded to help participants obtain urgent appointments and procedures. She ensures transportation to appointments is in place and that all necessary records and forms are sent in time for those appointments. She has assisted in identifying gaps in processes, helped educate new colleagues, and has worked to be sure that participants are seen asap for important procedures. And, she has done this with a smile, in addition to all her regular work as our medical records specialist!” Thank you for going above and beyond, Deborah!

It is with great excitement we announce our exceptional leader Dan Drake will expand his role to serve as President & CEO for Trinity Health’s three national continuing care organizations: Trinity Health Senior Communities, Trinity Health At Home, and Trinity Health PACE, effective August 1, 2024. Dan joined Trinity Health in 2014 and brings 25 years of leadership in long-term and community-based services to his new position. Cooling off in the water this summer? Make a splash with our weekly swim safety tips! Our first tip is to never go swimming alone. Bring a buddy with you, no matter your age or skilled level and have someone with you in case of an emergency.
