  • Saint Mary Home's colleagues in West Hartford, CT are "travelling around the world." In celebration and appreciation of its diverse population of caregivers, the team recognizes a different country each month with a day of recognition and awareness for the colors, culture and good food. This month, the team recognizes Sweden. Together, they enjoyed a delicious traditional homemade meal consisting of Swedish meatballs, egg noodles, glazed carrots, salad and Swedish chocolate cake. Administrator Rachel Goodsell says,“ I am truly proud of the team at Saint Mary Home for their commitment to embracing the cultural diversity of our colleagues. The partnership between our Therapeutic Recreation and Dining Service departments is unparalleled as research, creativity and authenticity is put into planning each country of the month’s special day. We are grateful to be able to welcome and accept individuals from all backgrounds and learn about their culture.”

  • Today is the 197th anniversary of the opening of the first "House of Mercy" in Dublin, Ireland. To mark the International Day of Mercy, Trinity Health Senior Communities Mission Leader Michael Prince shared this reflection from Mary Wickham, RSM with all colleagues today: If we pray aloud the word mercy, standing, each of us, by an open window anywhere we are in the world, then the word mercy will carry on the soundwaves onward and unceasing, through the air of the wounded world. And maybe, when it takes flight into deed and kindness, justice and effort, it will bring a healing, a hope and a blessing. It may call the lonely home, it may coax to hope the sick and broken, it may ease the grief and separation. Listen for it, the repeated word mercy, on this Mercy day, Listen for its neighbourly accents and global message. Imagine those who, like you, are saying it aloud, and those who need to hear it, today --the word -- mercy. One word, one deed of justice, one kind effort at a time.

  • We at Trinity Health Senior Communities very proudly welcome Dennis P. White as Chief Nursing Officer effective immediately. Dennis has more than 25 years of experience in senior living and skilled nursing care operations. A licensed administrator, he is an R.N. who holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, master’s degrees in both nursing and healthcare administration and anticipates earning his doctorate of nursing practice degree in March 2026. Since 2021, Dennis has served as a regional clinical consultant and traveling executive director for several Trinity Health Senior Communities -- most recently, leading Fraser Villa to its first 100% occupancy rate since before the COVID-19 pandemic. He also has served in CNO roles at CHI Living Communities in Toledo, Ohio, and at Laurel Health Care Company in Westerville, Ohio. According to THSC’s Chief Operating Officer Stacey Johnson, who was recently promoted to that executive position after serving as Chief Nursing Officer, “Using the Core Values as his guide, Dennis is focused on improving key clinical indicators and resident outcomes, improving customer service to our residents and their families, and building cohesive professional teams. He is a strategic thinker whose commitment to resident-centered care, understanding of best clinical practices, and the THSC Promise to ‘create environments where older adults thrive’ will serve him well in his new role.”
