Last week I had a chat with william chang, Yadia Colindres, and Himanshu Mendapara about the AI-powered text to SQL tool Wren AI from Canner. We chatted about the architecture, use cases, and got a great demo. It was also very interesting to hear about their usage of Trino at Canner. Have a look at the video and the show notes that are now available at https://lnkd.in/gCfnePP3

Question for all our users out there: Does anyone of you use the Raptor legacy connector? We would like to remove it, just like we recently removed the unused local file and atop connectors, unless we hear from you all that it is heavily relied upon.. and by the way, if you don't know what that connector even is .. don't worry 😀

Wow, it's been a while since we announced Trino release details. The last one was 453. Well, we just cut another big release for 458 yesterday with the following highlights: * Deactivate legacy file system support for all catalogs. You must activate the desired file system support with fs.native-azure.enabled,fs.native-gcs.enabled, fs.native-s3.enabled, or fs.hadoop.enabled in each catalog using the Delta Lake, Hive, Hudi, or Iceberg connectors. * Add support for tracing with OpenTelemetry to the JDBC driver. * Reduce data transfer from remote systems for queries with large IN lists in numerous connectors. For more release information make sure to watch Trino Community Broadcast episodes. We talk about the recent releases every episode. https://lnkd.in/gQz-U_PG And finally, all the details are available in the documentation. Every release also includes performance improvements, bug fixes, and other features. There are some gems in these releases for everyone - go check it out. https://lnkd.in/g7QAc6fG
