The United States and Japan healthcare innovation ecosystems have a rich shared history dating back decades. The exchange of ideas, technologies,and products has greatly benefited patients and healthcare providers in both countries. Local Silicon Valley ties have been stronger than ever due in a large part to the efforts of the US-Japan MedTech Frontiers (now US-Japan Healthcare Connection). This organization is lead by Steve Pollock and includes healthcare experts from around the Pacific. Triple Ring is proud to be sponsoring and participating in the 10th annual US-Japan Healthcare Conference being held across Japan during the week of November 11 to November 15, 2024. We are bringing together leaders from the public, private and academic sectors to drive healthcare innovation in the US and Japan. This year's theme is "Building a Transpacific Healthcare Ecosystem" and will feature presentations from leading venture capitalists, accelerators and entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley and Japan. Triple Ring Co-Founder, Edward Solomon, will attend along with Ryan McGuinness and Joe Lin. This year’s events were kicked off in Silicon Valley this week at a gathering called "Crossing Borders: Challenges and Opportunities for Healthtech Startups Entering Japan and the US" hosted by Elton Satusky of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (see below). Mika Nishimura hosted a great panel of executives and entrepreneurs including Sergio Aguirre, Kaz Maenosono, Kazuyuki Matsuda, Hiro Otake, MD, MBA, MSc, and Rajan Patel. The panel discussed the triumphs and challenges of working across borders and provided a large amount of good practical advice on operating between these two culturally different, but strategically aligned communities. Triple Ring’s Joe Heanue and Joe Lin are attending InnoLead’s #IMPACT24 conference in Boston this week. This year’s conference is focused on Innovation, AI, Emerging Tech, and Transformation inside of large organizations. Attendees are a select group of professionals holding roles in large private or public companies; nonprofits and NGOs. Triple Ring is on hand to discuss Corporate Venture Building - where we unlock innovation potential inside of large corporations through co-development arrangements. Our collaborations provide an accelerated path to market for breakthrough products that might otherwise be late or possibly never see the light of day. Joe and Joe are happy to meet up while they’re in town. Boston Dynamics has brought along Spot, their agile mobile robot, to join in on the fun. Spot isn't as warm and fuzzy as Joe's dogs at home, but he's certainly better behaved!

Enjoying a productive week in Toronto at The Medtech Conference! AdvaMed has produced another engaging week of events, this time in Toronto, Ontario. Triple Ring's Daniel S. Badali, Christopher Ellenor, and Ryan McGuinness are joined by David Shack, Joe Heanue, and Mike Lynn. We have been discussing our Venture Building capabilities with executives from Fujifilm Medical Systems U S A , Inc, Asahi Kasei Medical America Inc., Siemens Healthineers and many others. We've also attended MedTech Innovator pitches by our friends Invicta Medical, Magnetic Insight, Inc, and ATDev to name a few. It has been a great show so far and we expect to be very busy meeting up with old friends and new through tomorrow.

Joe Heanue was interviewed by Glenn Snyder, Global Medtech Practice Leader, at Monitor Deloitte about the shifting landscape of #Medtech investment. Joe and Glenn had a deep discussion about Venture Capital, Corporate Venture Capital, and Private Equity investment strategies in the Medtech space and how recent macroeconomic events have changed the industry. Joe also discusses how Triple Ring is adjusting to these market dynamics by offering Corporate Venture Building services: Triple Ring provides a range of support to investors, corporations, and institutions looking to launch and grow new businesses. LSX Congress USA 2024 was a big success! Thank you to Hugh Reid, Jack Giles, and the team at LSX - partnering for Life Science eXecutives for a great conference in Boston last week. Triple Ring's Jeffrey Perkins is presenting at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) proposers day for the POSEIDON program on September 4, 2024. Jeff Perkins will travel to Baltimore, MD to attend and present at the ARPA-H POSEIDON proposers day. Jeff will present a Lightning Talk describing Triple Ring's proposed solution to the POSEIDON challenge. Jeff will be on hand throughout the day to discuss this important program with the ARPA-H team and other proposers. Triple Ring, a world class #Medtech and #LifeScience #CDMO, is seeking teaming opportunities to provide complete solutions to ARPA-H and the US Government. POSEIDON, or The Platform Optimizing SynBio for Early Intervention and Detection in ONcology, aims to fundamentally change the field of cancer screening by developing first-in-class, over-the-counter, Multi-Cancer Early Detection tests that screen for 30+ cancers at Stage 1. POSEIDON intends to develop non-invasive synthetic sensors and reporters to reliably detect cancer from breath or urine samples at home. The self-administered kit, based on human-centered design, would allow any adult American to screen for cancers before symptoms arise. The kit would also integrate results securely with electronic health records and ensure individuals connect with a health care professional via a telemedicine call to review results.
