Thank you American Enterprise Institute for having Jeff Weiss, Managing Director on the "Achieving Speed and Scale: Developing a Next-Generation, Efficient, and Resilient US Power Grid" panel, moderated by Rick Geddes. "The 21 century is the century of non-carbon. And that is the transition we are going through today," said Jeff Weiss. "As we move forward, the reason we call this the speed and scale (panel) is it only matters if we do it fast and we do it big. It doesn't matter if we all get exactly what we want, and it doesn't happen because it took 10 years. It only matters as we get over the goal line." Driven by industrial operations, fleet electrification, growing data centers & AI, corporate energy demand is growing exponentially. The impact on C&I customers is changing the energy landscape and adding uncertainty, increased power volatility and most notably increased energy rates. While utilities face an energy gauntlet challenge of their own, with advancements in technologies and policies, C&I customers are in great position to steer their energy futures. Their decarbonization, electrification and sustainability goals can be met with the right energy transition roadmaps that focus on TCO reductions. Missed the live event? Please see link to the on-demand video below. #DERs #energytransition #decarbonization

Learn more about the critical topic that's impacting our national infrastructure: Developing a Next-Generation, Efficient, and Resilient US Power Grid with founder of the Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy (CPIP), Professor Rick Geddes, who will be leading a panel discussion on renewing the nation’s electrical grid on June 13th at 9:00 AM at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC. To accommodate the growing demand for electricity, the US will need to find ways to generate clean energy more quickly. Industry experts will explore strategies to help increase the speed and scale in adopting resilient, reliable, distributed, renewable, and US-controlled power. Discussion topics will include recent Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rules and power-generation technologies (such as solar, wind, geothermal, storage, and small modular reactors), key resources (such as strategic metals, component supply chains, and key dependencies), project-finance risks (including permitting, interconnection, regulation, site control, and time), and innovative business models. Speakers will include: ⚡ Jeff Weiss, Executive Chairman, Distributed SunScott Aaronson, Senior Vice President of Security and Preparedness, Edison Electric InstituteJaquelin Cochran, Director, Grid Planning and Analysis Center, National Renewable Energy Laboratory ⚡ Sean McGarvey, President, North America's Building Trades Unions 💡 RSVP at the link below to attend in person, or remotely. #resilient #reliable #distributed #renewable #powergrid

Welcome to the team, James Leverette - our new Fleet Charging Infrastructure Manager! Jim will lead the delivery of innovative fleet charging solutions for truCurrent’s customers, focusing on on-site fleet charging for medium- and heavy-duty (MHD) truck fleets. Jim has a knack for scaling electrification and brings a wealth of experience as a licensed professional engineer and project manager in the EV infrastructure and energy space. Notably, he spearheaded the design and deployment of DC fast charging (DCFC) infrastructure at numerous sites at Tesla, Rivian, and Alabama Power. At Tesla, he was the second highest contributor in North America as rated by number of charging stations designed and opened in 2023 with the lowest average cost per site. With an MBA from Auburn University Harbert College of Business and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, Jim is well-equipped to drive fleet electrification forward! Jim asks: "What if we designed the fleet charging experience to not only solve for high uptimes, but also with grid stability in mind?" Welcome, Jim! A new age of solar+ is here ☀ 🔋 #fleetelectrification #EVSE

With growing loads and lack of available energy supply, often referred to as the energy gauntlet, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) will play an increasing role of balancing system capacity. In an insightful article for Latitude Media, Jigar Shah, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s LPO director lays out a blueprint for how VPPs can help the grid handle massive load growth. "VPPs should just be an “energy efficiency play,” preventing loads from pulling from the grid during peak times, rather than a two-way asset." The flexibility delivered by battery energy storage systems (BESS) and load management systems tied to VPPs will offer prosumer benefits both in terms of cost management and emission reductions. Now is the time for C&I customers to embrace this energy transition as a way to not only provide valuable grid services, but also monetize their energy assets. #VPP #electrification #decarbonization
