In observation of Patriot Day, Tulare County Probation would like to commemorate the brave men and women who lost their lives and honor the heroic efforts of our first responders. On Sept 11, 2001, our country endured one of the most horrific tragedies in history. Each year, Patriot Day is held on Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, and a time for reflection and unity.

Tulare County Office of Education hosted its annual Court and Community School Commencement to honor this year’s graduates at the Juvenile Detention Facility. Families, Court School Staff, Tulare County Probation staff and other support staff were in attendance as five graduates received their high school diploma. During the ceremony, students expressed their deep gratitude to the teachers and Probation staff who offered guidance, support, and encouragement. A student who spoke said, “graduating is something I once thought was out of reach, but today, I am fully thankful and am full of pride for this accomplishment. This achievement is proof of what hard work, perseverance, and guidance can do for somebody. It represents something that no one can ever take away from me, and it marks a new beginning in my life.” On behalf of Tulare County Probation and Chief Probation Officer Kelly Vernon, we’re incredibly proud of the five graduates who received their diploma today. Congratulations to all!

Tulare County Probation hosted the regional Probation Information Technology Managers (PITMA) yesterday at Probation Headquarters. PITMA was established for Probation IT Professionals to support the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) in their efforts to unify and enhance the role of IT in Probation. Chief Kelly Vernon opened the meeting with a welcoming address. The meeting featured guest speakers, presentations and a tour of the Connections Center. We want to thank the various Probation Departments and IT Professionals for attending the PITMA meeting.

This week is National Crime Victims' Rights Week (April 21st - 27th). Join us as we honor and recognize victims, alongside the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC). Did you know? Tulare County Probation Department connects victims with resources to support their journey through healing and restoration. Our department also ensures victims are represented throughout the court process. Probation Officers investigate the impact of crimes with comprehensive pre-sentencing reports, submit victim restitution recommendations, and provide victims with court hearing information in the event they’d like to attend.
