Wood House officially premiered at Soho House Hong Kong on 19th October, 2024. We got one more screening coming on 22nd October, 2024 and we will be making it public on YouTube on 26th October, 2024.
The official premiere for Wood House is done! Truly a surreal experience. I would like to thank the entire cast, especially Neha Rai, Soloman, Ahad Ahmed and Zeed. Also would like to thank Sneha Lalwani; our assistant director, and Pursuit Avenue; the 3D Wood House designer for the film, who came to support us on the day! Some important members of the cast and crew couldn't make it but we are still grateful for their contribution. Huge shoutout to Shreyas Bhat; our sound designer who helped me envision such an immersive cinematic experience that I could have only dreamed of until I called him up. Also huge thanks to Nasrul Ekram for helping us get the venue Soho House Hong Kong and helping out with the guest list. Finally, thanks to all the audience members who came to watch this film! Although this isn't the first time I premiered a movie, this was the film that I have been trying to make as good as it can be without compromises for a long time. Plus, it was not done with the help of any organisation so in that way, this was the first self-funded premiere I did. This film to me is a film that I made to express the isolation and loneliness within the money oriented urban landscape of Hong Kong, and other big cities. Our living quarters are depressingly tiny and most don't have time for real human connections. Moreover, our value is tied to our success, whether it's achieved ethically or unethically. The characters in my film are searching for a real connection to something that gives them meaning and hope beyond these difficulties, whether it's through another person's validation, or a higher ideal. I believe this is what I have seen in my friends in Hong Kong, whether they are local or non-Chinese, even if they don't like to admit it. I hope people can take away their own interpretations through this film as well. Although we are all non-Chinese people in Hong Kong, we still love the city and have tons of stories to tell. We live in our own unique ways as third-culture children to our parents. It's truly a great pleasure to be working with some of the most talented ethnically diverse people in Hong Kong. And we hope you all catch the online premiere at Twist Visuals' YouTube channel.

Hong Kong is considered currently as the most expensive city to live. Although it may affect middle and upper classes of people in their living standards, those who get most affected are those already in poverty or are homeless. This short film was made to potentially show the feelings of someone in poverty in an expensive city. The video was shot in the Central area, one of the most important business areas in Hong Kong. It was a good experience filming and working on this video.
