Coastal Bend Making Their Mark in ATX at the Capitol! Coastal Bend Day highlights the significance of economic growth and regional investment in the Coastal Bend Region and provides opportunities for sharing with elected officials and state agencies and organizations. Hosted by the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, Visit Corpus Christi, and the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation, the event showcased collaboration and advocacy in action, uniting 120 representatives to champion critical regional priorities, including workforce development, water resources, and tourism. Office of the Governor-Texas Economic Development & Tourism Executive Director & Ex-Oficio TxEDC Board Member Adriana Cruz spoke with the delegation which included a number of TxEDC Investors along with representatives from the Port of Corpus Christi, NUECES COUNTY Commissioner’s Court, City of Corpus Christi, Mayor and Council Members, Visit Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and local leaders in business, economic development, workforce, education and infrastructure development. TxEDC Team Joins the Southeast Texas Partner Group in Austin! The Southeast Texas Partner Group was recently in Austin, Texas visiting with state leaders, elected legislators and hearing from several economic development, workforce, and education professionals all with the goal of deepening the understanding of rural issues, benefits, and opportunities in the Hardin, Jasper, Newton, and Tyler counties. Alongside President Demerson, the group heard from Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of the Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, who provided an overview of Rural and Economic Development & Tourism and a broad outlook for what’s ahead in 2025. In addition, Eddie Hopkins, former President of the Jasper Economic Development Corporation, was honored with a flag flown over the Texas Capitol and recognition from Governor Greg Abbott (via Adriana Cruz) for his dedicated service to the Jasper community, the region, and the State of Texas. A big Texas-sized THANK YOU to Nancy Carol Windham, Regional Economic Development Advisor at Texas Forest Country Partnership (TxEDC investor), and Tanya Dora, Executive Director of Texas Forest Country Partnership, for all that is being done to support the Southeast Texas region. Robertson, Vice President of Business Development, attended the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new 70,000+ sq. foot Texas State Technical College (TSTC) building at the East Williamson County Higher Education Center! This milestone marks a major investment in workforce development for Hutto and the greater Williamson County area. This new facility will supercharge economic growth and ensure Texas remains a leader in high-demand industries.
