Tariffs with Mexico threaten Texas’ position as a global trade leader, something that we in San Antonio work daily to promote. Last year, trade with Mexico accounted for $281 billion in exports and 466,000 Texas jobs, with Canada accounting for another $75 billion in exports. Since NAFTA’s signing in San Antonio, North American free trade has strengthened our manufacturing ecosystem and economy. If these tariffs remain in place long term, they will negatively impact our economy and disrupt the interconnected bi-national supply chains built over more than 30 years. This would harm business and drive up the price of goods for U.S. consumers. We are closely monitoring the situation and will support our regional businesses as needed. https://hubs.li/Q039f5qX0
