It’s #NationalInternDay and we’re highlighting the greater:SATX interns! Felicity Banda, Victoria Xu, and Omer Rajput have spent the summer working alongside the greater:SATX team. The three of them have supported the Administrative Services, Business Advancement, and Brand & Communications teams on a variety of projects. They are part of the #SAWORX summer internship program, now in its ninth year. This summer, 218 high school and college interns are working with some of the region’s largest employers, including USAA, Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc., Southwest Research Institute, Toyota North America, AVANZAR INTERIOR TECHNOLOGIES, LTD, SWBC, and many others. greater:SATX is proud to lead the region’s largest internship program. The program connects our future workforce to career opportunities in the SATX region, so that we can retain the best talent in the nation. We are already looking ahead to next summer. Von Ormy is a small town of approximately 1,300 residents in southwest Bexar County along Interstate 35 and the Medina River. The community is named for Count Norbert von Ormay, an Austrian nobleman who lived in the area in the mid-1880s. Show your support for the proposed #SAT2DCA flight. The Department of Transportation is accepting public comments on proposed routes to DCA. You can share how the route would benefit your business and you personally now through July 17. All you need to do is follow the link below.   We’re making it easy for you. Texas Biomedical Research Institute is tapping the municipal bond market to prepare for the next pandemic. Dr. Larry Schlesinger, Texas Biomed's CEO, was recently on Bloomberg News to discuss the research institute's decision to sell municipal bonds. They will be used to raise $120M to build a new high-containment research facility. Texas Biomed was instrumental in developing the #COVID-19 vaccine, the first #Ebola treatment, and the first Hepatitis-C therapy. The nonprofit research institute is engaged in 400+ projects as it continues to develop treatments for other infectious diseases around the world. San Antonio is a global leader in infectious diseases because of the ongoing work at Texas Biomed and the #SouthTexasMedicalCenter. The two are part of the life sciences innovation ecosystem in SATX. More flights. More destinations. More options. You can now travel #nonstop to 45 destinations from the San Antonio International Airport (SAT). This summer, the airport celebrated the launch of three new routes to: ✈️Torreon, Mexico ✈️Burbank, CA ✈️Philadelphia, PA Passengers can now get to Frankfurt, Germany on Condor Flugdienst GmbH's nonstop flight. The flight operates three times weekly, through September 6. SAT is on track for another banner year. The airport set a new all-time passenger record in 2023, with 10.7 million passengers flying through SAT. #SAT #Airport #GreaterAirService

Downtown is the heart of #SATX. Our partners at the City of San Antonio, Centro San Antonio, and Visit San Antonio have been intentional and strategic in their plans to grow the central business district. The work is paying off. San Antonio is leading the nation in the post-pandemic rebound, according to study by Center City District. Additionally, a CoStar US report says SATX will lead the nation in office rent growth over the next four years. We see the trend reflected in our project pipeline. Office expansion projects account for more than half of projects we have won year to date, creating 730 new high-wage jobs.
