September is National Suicide Prevention Month and the Army’s theme for 2024 is “We Are Stronger Together. Connect to Protect.” This theme underscores the importance of connecting with people we trust because data shows individuals who have strong, supportive relationships have a lower risk for suicide. Both the Army and PEO STRI are committed to addressing suicide through a comprehensive program that integrates strategies and activities aimed at preventing suicide and other dangerous behaviors. We are required to conduct annual suicide prevention training using the Ask, Care, Escort (ACE) training model. The training focuses on risk factors, warning signs and resources and to encourage intervention for at-risk Army team and family members. #SuicidePrevention #ConnectToProtect #Army #People #MentalHealth

Patriot Day - Today, we join the rest of the nation in honoring the memory of the nearly 3,000 souls lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to all the patriots and their families who have sacrificed their lives for freedom. Those killed at the Pentagon, in New York City, and in Shanksville, Penn., will never be forgotten. Because of them, our Army remains vigilant and ready to meet any future challenges. #NeverForget #PatriotDay #September11 #Army

Col. Clydea Prichard-Brown, Chief of Staff, 1st Theater Sustainment Command and founder of the Army’s Female Mentoring and Morale Program, speaks to the PEO STRI workforce during a Women’s Equality Day event in Orlando, Florida, on Aug. 27. Observed annually on Aug. 26, Women’s Equality Day commemorates the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920 that granted women the right to vote. Today, women make up approximately 19% of the total Army and 38% of the Army’s civilian workforce. The Army has more than 200 career paths, and all are open to women. Female Soldiers can find purpose and may pursue passions through a wide variety of career paths. #WomensEqualityDay #BeAllYouCanBe #People #Diversity

Women’s Equality Day commemorates the struggles and success of American women’s fight to have the right to vote by marshalling a constitutional amendment in 1920. “Your gender does not limit the dreams you can have and the contributions you can make. We can benefit from the talent of our entire, diverse population in the U.S.” said LT GEN Mary K. Izaguirre, The U.S. Army Surgeon General. Women make up over 19% of the U.S. Army and 38% of the Army’s civilian personnel. Women across the nation fought valiantly to secure the passage of the 19th Amendment. Women have also been integral contributors to the efforts of all armed conflicts in our nation and abroad. The women of PEO STRI are integral to our success. Our current Program Executive Officer is Brigadier General Christine A. Beeler, who assumed her command last month. At PEO STRI, we are the leaders in delivering unmatched testing, training and information in support of our national defense. Our success is due to the work of men and the women who make up our skilled ranks. #womensequalityday #BeAllYouCanBe #GoArmy #leadership #genderequality #internationalwomensday #womensequality #womensrights #womenleaders

Congratulations to our very own Joseph J. Grigus from PM TRADE for being one of the 16 acquisition professionals selected participate in the Naval Postgraduate School Master of Science in Systems and Program Management program. The NPS-MSSPM is an interdisciplinary program combining systems engineering with program management knowledge and skills. The program intends to broaden the technical capabilities of the acquisition workforce who may have non-technical backgrounds, so they are able to successfully manage and lead programs/projects in support of the Defense Acquisition System. Students in this program learn the systems engineering process from establishing system requirements through test and evaluation. Simultaneously, students learn how to manage, schedule and budget programs as well as work with DOD suppliers through contracts to meet program obligations. The NPS-MSSPM Cohort 722-251 will kick-off in September 2024 and conclude in September 2026. #People #BeAllYouCanBe #ProfessionalDevelopment #PEOSTRI
