Women’s Equality Day commemorates the struggles and success of American women’s fight to have the right to vote by marshalling a constitutional amendment in 1920. “Your gender does not limit the dreams you can have and the contributions you can make. We can benefit from the talent of our entire, diverse population in the U.S.” said LT GEN Mary K. Izaguirre, The U.S. Army Surgeon General. Women make up over 19% of the U.S. Army and 38% of the Army’s civilian personnel. Women across the nation fought valiantly to secure the passage of the 19th Amendment. Women have also been integral contributors to the efforts of all armed conflicts in our nation and abroad. The women of PEO STRI are integral to our success. Our current Program Executive Officer is Brigadier General Christine A. Beeler, who assumed her command last month. At PEO STRI, we are the leaders in delivering unmatched testing, training and information in support of our national defense. Our success is due to the work of men and the women who make up our skilled ranks. #womensequalityday #BeAllYouCanBe #GoArmy #leadership #genderequality #internationalwomensday #womensequality #womensrights #womenleaders

Congratulations to our very own Joseph J. Grigus from PM TRADE for being one of the 16 acquisition professionals selected participate in the Naval Postgraduate School Master of Science in Systems and Program Management program. The NPS-MSSPM is an interdisciplinary program combining systems engineering with program management knowledge and skills. The program intends to broaden the technical capabilities of the acquisition workforce who may have non-technical backgrounds, so they are able to successfully manage and lead programs/projects in support of the Defense Acquisition System. Students in this program learn the systems engineering process from establishing system requirements through test and evaluation. Simultaneously, students learn how to manage, schedule and budget programs as well as work with DOD suppliers through contracts to meet program obligations. The NPS-MSSPM Cohort 722-251 will kick-off in September 2024 and conclude in September 2026. #People #BeAllYouCanBe #ProfessionalDevelopment #PEOSTRI

Antiterrorism Awareness Month recognizes the risk associated with terrorist threats and provides education for Soldiers, Army Civilians, family members, and retired Soldiers to increase their antiterrorism awareness and vigilance. If you see something, say something. Being aware of and reporting concerning behavior can help identify and prevent threats to national security and local communities. #alwaysready #SeeSomethingSaySomething #AntiterrorismAwarenessMonth

It's back to school time for the Orlando area! Please note that school starts on Monday, Aug. 12 for Orange, Brevard, Volusia, Polk, Osceola, Lake, and Seminole Counties (plus a lot more in Florida)! This is a reminder to the PEO STRI workforce that buses will be running next week and students will be out at the bus stops. Traffic in the local area will be heavier than normal with parents doing car lines and newly licensed drivers driving to high school for the first time. This means our workforce needs to be on heightened alert and be aware of frequent stops and increased traffic volume. Everyone is encouraged to have a little more patience with those driving around us. It is also recommended to leave home a little for the morning commute to and from the office. The good news is UCF does not start classes until Monday, Aug. 19, so we have an additional week for the regular school traffic to get sorted out before we add the campus traffic into the mix. #People #Safety #BackToSchool #DriveSafe #PEOSTRI

August is Antiterrorism Awareness Month. Terrorism is an enduring, persistent, worldwide threat to our nation and Army readiness. The Army Antiterrorism Program protects personnel, information and assets here and abroad from violent threats. Part of that protection comes from a system called JARVIS. In a fun twist on life imitating art, The Army’s JARVIS has lots of similarities to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s human-like, computer program invented by Tony Stark. Both systems were created to keep people safe from dangerous attacks. The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Data & Analysis Center (DEVCOM DAC) developed the Joint Analysis Repository and Visual Interface System, dubbed JARVIS. But we cannot rely on information systems and computers alone in fighting terrorism. If you see something, say something. We all play a role in keeping our citizens safe. #alwaysready #globalsecurity #AntiterrorismAwarenessMonth #terrorism #readiness #GoArmy #globalsecurity
