We are deeply saddened by the loss of the Honourable Murray Sinclair, also known by his traditional Anishinaabe name, Mizhana Gheezhik. Born in a time when Indigenous people were denied the right to vote, he rose to become a transformative leader in the pursuit of Indigenous justice and advocacy. As chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, he led profound efforts to confront and address the injustices of residential schools, guiding Canada on a path of healing and setting forth the Calls to Action. His dedication to truth will continue to inspire and influence our actions, with his legacy shining as a beacon that urges us to persist in the essential work of reconciliation.

Led by Dr. Jan Hare, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and created in collaboration with community leaders, educators, and scholars, the course offers a transformative experience to enhance practice and care through Indigenous ways of knowing. With no prerequisites, it is accessible to everyone. Building on the success of the Reconciliation Through Indigenous Education MOOC, which engaged over 70,000 learners globally, this new course features learning circles on Indigenous knowledges, family, community, land as the first teacher, and more.
